$500 is too cheap and 2013 is too early, so I don't believe that rumour. Sony and MS will struggle to keep up with pre orders and early adopters as it is. I hope we get a good bundle offer soon though - and world-wide.
It really shouldn't be news that a game isn't going to be banned in Australia. Something is wrong when it's a shock for adults in Aus to be able to play the same game as the rest of the world. Good news for the Aussies though.
Should it matter to us if Phil Fish is a great guy or not? I don't think so, lots of singers, musicians, artists etc are/were not likeable. It won't stop me appreciating the art they bring to life. I hope for his sake he realises that whatever industry he's in he'll have to deal with prats, because the world is full of them. You can't live under a rock forever Fish. Do what you love, don't let the petty nothings, the haters bring you down. Keep your head down, delete your facebook, twitter etc and make a patch for Fez at least.
$50 to get the charge kit and headset that should idealy be in the box is a bit crap, but not a deal breaker. Personally I doubt I'll buy xbone ever anyway. As for 1000 - 2000 'friends' - imagine all the notifications you'd get. Player x is online, player j sent you a message, stranger b requests you be their friend. No one in their right mind will use this many. "Virtually unlimited" is right.
The thought of playing mario 64 centenary edition doesn't exactly thrill me. Nintendo need to come up with new ideas not just more mario kart, pikmin, new super mario bros etc. So little has changed since the SNES days for Nintendo.
