With a new Pokemon announcement coming out soon, we shall see what it may be. Hoping for either Red/Blue or Ruby/Sapphire remakes for 3DS. If they announce Pokemon Gray, I won't be as excited, but would still be big news.
Pokemon (???)Red and (???)Blue remakes, combined with features from past to current generation Pokemon games, would be a perfect start for Pokemon games on the 3DS. The whole storyline and plot of Pokemon Red and Blue were great, one reason why they are arguably the most popular and favorite Pokemon games of all. Although there are already remakes--Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen--remaking these games again would not be considered overkill, because all of the enhanced features, regions, new Pokemon, etc. created since could be integrated into these games which, in my opinion, would label these remakes the best of all the Pokemon games again. And being on 3DS, the visuals would only be the best, as well.
