Fair enough. I do agree Nintendo is built on nostalgia and the same franchise of characters. I will say as a lifelong Nintendo and Playstation owner, you will not be disappointed playing the best games Nintendo has to offer. Yes there is only a handful of Switch games, however keep your eye on their digital library. If they release the handful of good Wii U games plus other classics like Zelda Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, jump on it, you will not be disappointed.
@bbq_R0ADK1LL: "so you have to buy a $300 piece of hardware before you're allowed an opinion?". Answer: YES. Otherwise what the heck are you basing you opinion off of? Unless you don't mind offering an uninformed one.
Lots of Nintendo haters on here. This is a great idea that will combine mobile and home gaming. This is an attempt at being a real system targeting gamers and not a fad like the Wii. Unfortunately it looks like my hopes of it being backwards compatible have just gone up in smoke. And screw the 3rd party support, they have never had it and never will.
There is no question significant time is spent in many games revolving around a story. However many games give you the option to skip over a story sequence.
With the exception of RPSs, at the end of the day I think it would be severely misguided to base a game's score, or any significant portion of it, based off a game's story. A good story should count as an added bonus or afterthought, especially first person shooters.
And yes played Mass Effect, Max Payne(best acting ever), FF7, MGS. All great stories/acting but if the story/acting in these games were bad I would hardly think anything less of them.
In my 25 years of playing video games, I have never cared about a video game's storyline. If anything my favorite storyline & acting in a video game is the original Resident Evil for how laughably bad it was. Now give a review score not counting Far Cry 4's storyline.
45% simply impossible. I would be surprised if it is 5%. As you guys said what exactly is thier qualifying criteria to be considered a "gamer". And I gurantee the women purchasing games are presants for their men! My mom and wife buys most of my games. As Mark Twain said: "there are lies, damn lies and statistics"
