I usually get the most value out of my games.

I rarely rent games so paying $50+ dollars for something, I'd better get that much value out of it.

So, I'm in the process of building a computer and I had a question. So far, I have a quad core AMD processor, 4 gigs of RAM running at 800 mhz, and some other good stuff. However, I've been out of the gaming community for awhile so my knowledge of video cards is pretty sad. I am looking at the video cards for my PC and I know that a Nvidia Geforce 8800 is supposed to be a very good card, but I am also looking at putting 2 8500 GTS's in my PC. Which one is better?

Which of these setups will be able to run Elder Scrolls Oblivion at decent settings? I'm not a graphics whore, I don't care about the highest resolutions but I do care about the details. I also could care banana's about detailed shadows. So, which of these do you think would work to run Oblivion at high detail, but medium to low resolution?

Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT at 512 mb.

OR

Nvidia Geforce 8500 GTS at 512 mb. (Two of these)

Kratos coming to the Xbox will happen when Microsoft sends over Masterchief or Nintedo gives Sony the rights to Link. Never. Its a huge moneymaker for Sony and they'll pay millions to keep it only for Sony.

Perhaps before you say Ninja Gaiden you should mention the extreme difficulty? I'd go with Far Cry if you are more into the shooting games. If you are a patient person who likes action games with non button mashing fighting then NG is for you.

I've had it and beat it and it wasn't very difficult. There are some INCREDIBLY hard parts in it though. Its got a nice little story and many characters you can play as. The graphics are pretty good as well if your into that kind of thing. But I do believe there is an Enclave 2 as well out now.

Morrowind is superior to Oblivion. Not because I'm a "hardcore" gamer. Not because I want to appear all cool and old school. But because Morrowind is just better. Plain and simple. I mean sure... the combat sucks horrendously. Thats about the only complaint anyone can make about it. Well that and the tons of reading involved. You can't compare Oblivion to Morrowind in terms of graphics. Oblivion came out 4 years after Morrowind who in 2002 had pretty amazing graphics. There is a much more interesting landscape. I mean... I like huge forests and deer and whatnot too. But with Morrowind, the developer took chances that made it the game it is. Oblivion's world is just another world. Cyrodil green forests compared to Morrowinds bleak, rocky landscape with the exception of the bittercoast, west gash, and the plains region. Not to mention that on PC, people can download all these texture replacers and large view distances. But the world of Vvardenfel is just much more riskier to traverse. The game does not hold your hand. I remember first playing. I created an Argonian Darkhunter and walked along the coast. I came across a ship and saw a nord with awesome armor and I attacked. He swung once and killed me. Needless to say I didn't try that again. There are tons of books and plenty of optional quests. Not to mention being a slave abolitionist is a favorite of mine. Every day I play I find another hidden area with tons of slaves just waiting to be rescued. And though I have played Oblivion, I find adventuring with my level 61 Argonian Halbarad the II is just a better experience overall. Besides. After about 4 years of playing this game. I have probably only done about half of all there is to do and even then, there is probably still more.

I have had an Xbox for about 5 years now. My first one from around 2002 fried a few years ago thanks to a crappy power cord. So anyway, I have a new Xbox and have finally decided top get Xbox live. Only problem is that people don't really sell them anymore. By "them" I mean the little cards with a subscription code. Does anyone here know if Gamestop or EB games sells them? Or better yet... does anyone know where I could find a 3 month Xbox live starter kit? I would prefer alternatives to Ebay or Amazon. And if you buy one of these... can you extend the service without buying a new little card? Thanks.

I would have to say Sgt. Johnson from Halo and Halo 2. However my favorite all time character is Sonic the Hedgehog. C'mon Sega, drop the 3d and put Sonic back where he belongs in his 2 dimensional home!!!!!!!! I apologize for my rantings.

I don't think the DS is going anywhere anytime soon. Its still selling strong and still has plenty of awesome games. The PSP and the DS however are two different things. Sony is going for a portable console while Nintendo is going for the more casual gamer. The PSP will never dominate the handheld market. People just aren't taking to it. Nintendo is the handheld king and always has been. Besides with games like Ninja Gaiden and Pokemon coming to it, it'll be a long time before Nintendo replaces it.
