Video games are definitely a form of artwork. It takes talent to design the graphics, talent to write the scripts and stories, talent to make great music for the game, and talent to make the controls feel just right. Also whoever said video games were inferior to movies in terms of storytelling has obviously never played a Final Fantasy game. Oftentimes in RPG's, video games incorporate masterfully crafted stories more interesting and unique than many of the kitsch movies out there that many hail as great. In some cases they are even superior to books, in that they can sometimes pull you into the story further by letting you interact with the world in the story.
