A couple have actually. Mostly more indie games rather than mainstream stuff. The best example for me would probably be To The Moon by Freebirdgames...the game is completely story-driven and very emotionally charged, but certainly not for everyone lol. Another is Shadow of the Colossus, I always felt really sad at the end when the main character finally resurrects the girl but ends up getting killed. An old adventure game Shannara made me feel a bit sad when one of the main characters died, because of the way the game made you become a bit attached to all of the characters. There was also a game called Sunset over Imdahl that was pretty sad, you played a boy who was trying to save his village from a plague while it was under siege, it really had a pretty powerful message and story for a game that, to the best of my knowledge, was made by one person. Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head, it takes a lot for a game to make me feel very emotional lol.

Thanks a bunch for the quick replies. They all look pretty interesting, particularly Gemini Rue and Sam and Max. And nice to know about Uncharted...shows how much I knew about it lol.

Hello. I am a big fan of the old point-and-click adventure games, but I realize that nowadays the genre has all but died out. I'm sure there's still some companies making similar games though, so I wanted to find out if anyone knows of any good ones that have been released in the past few years. I have seen a handful of new adventure games out there, but they're mostly done by really small, independent producers and are really more homages to the old 80s/90s games than anything else (aka, they have the same graphics/interface/style and everything else). I used to play all the old Sierra ones and I really miss them lol. That said, I'm not looking exclusively for point-and-click adventure games that are just like the old ones, but more for games with the same sort of style...such as a heavy focus on story, puzzle solving, item usage/combination, and little or no focus on combat. I have heard of the Uncharted series but I haven't tried it out yet (my computer isn't very good lol)...it looks promising if a bit action heavy from what I've seen. I always thought that the genre had a huge potential, particularly with how far graphics have progressed nowadays, and I really think it's a shame that the genre has fallen by the wayside. So, if you know of any good, recent ones, please feel free to share!
