altho i agree with some of your points. But if Mr. Ballmer is telling business' not to upgrade, Imma take that as he does not have confidence in the product and as an individual i will not buy it. Im sorry, but Vista has giving me nothing but problems since Day 1 of its launch and it goes down as one of the worst OS' I have owned in my 20yrs of being on the PC.
I use it for business and pleasure and both ways are not good at all. Its slow and buggy! My old company upgraded for free to Vista and 2 months later dropped it. I dont have 1 friend that uses Vista, they tried it and all dropped it. If windows 7 sucks as bad as Vista, then I will just use it for games and then go back to XP for everything else.
I just wish M$ woudl quit half a$$ing everything they make. From the 360 to Vista its all rushed, doesnt run well and is full of bugs.

Vista is more faster and responsive than XP.In XP my dual core shows it's limitations when I run a virus scan and lavasoft at the same time and then try to browse the web.In vista I was quite surprised that I could do those 3 things simultaneously quite a bit more smoothly than in XP.
Time your loading time... Xp wins hands down... and I haven't seen any difference between both Os when doing multi task.
Well well vista wins hands down for me......XP for me takes some time to get things going after I enter my account, vista on the other hand is all ready as soon as I enter my account.
And you have a quad core so you'll have to take that to it's limit in both OSes to see the difference.
