wow i didnt realize that's what readyboost does, that way it can make up for the extra ram Vista takes (although i heard it dumps alot of it when you run a game, but evne if that's true i dunno how well that or any other resource management works yet since games are still running slower on it). anyhoo, i guess that means i'll have to seek out some ripping fast flash USB stick to get a boost from readyboost, i wonder even on USB 2.0 and with a quick stick how much slow it is than my ram and how much faster than a HD.
i might be most excited for god of war II so i can make sure i'm actually in the credits, although i'm also hoping they didnt forget me, so i really want to beat the game and check ;)

well damn, people rag on the ps3 so much but they seem to have the most stand out games, get past the price people, it will be smashing the retail shelves (not to say Wii doesn't also look exciting, but having actually played it i'm not as excited for the controller as others have been led to beleive, good thing they have some cool and interesting games coming up, something that worries me about the xbox360).
i'll tell you what i'd like to see. Wii support for Sega Saturn. They've already made a deal with Sega over their Genesis stuff, which is getting more attention in the retail sector anyhow, and yet the Saturn is effectively dead, plus there are no PC emulators for it, making it a draw to those that already use PC emulators.
while many of the GS "staff" were singing the praises of being able to sleep in and avoid the many attendies that "had no business being there", only a few understood that this redesign represents a whole slew of issues for them and others. Yes the show had become decadent, and yes there were alot of total dorks that had no business being there, especially the ones that thought that grooming was a second language and dressing like a high school goth or gangbanger like the usually do was the best attire for the event they scammed their way into. But as someone who legitimately gets in (but as said tourist) and has legitimate reason to go (USC video game student) i find this news a bit disconcerting. it throws a very large monkey wrench in the growth of the area, which was enjoying alot of great annual traffic from this event (so much so that this year it was lamented about in the local paper), and it has helped along the construction of the LA Live complex near the staples center partly to accomodate an event like this, with fresh entertainment and skyscraper Hiltons. So considering this is the largest, most profitable, and entertaining event by far held there, it's a huge loss for progress. Yet now, before LIVE is even finished the event is going away (well, at least so far, since they are no longer saying LACC, but "somewhere" in LA). Of course the event was getting out of hand, but this doesnt seem to be the most competent way to fix it. The very people pruporting this change after all, are the same rocket scientists who turned it into the circus it is now, i wouldnt necesarily trust that they wouldnt make just as many damaging errors when taking it into the other direction.
Harder to name a game, but rather a company, Blizzard is the penultimate example that after years of proving the opposite, showing that an american company actually can make uber top tier quality games, hurrah!
