[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="lightmonkey"]BTW. Adding a solid online structure to VF would require alot of work, and in the end it would still never work out, so what's the point? As i said, since when was adding a lacklustre online feature plausable? "Hey, this game hasn't got much replayability if you don't have friends! Let's just tack on online and watch the gimmick roll!"lightmonkey
then SEGA nees to put the **cking work in to DO IT RIGHT. no online in this kind of game is simply unacceptable in 2007. they have bright software engineers there. they need to cut the excuses and get it done.

You have been led astray from the truth by being spoonfed with online. A game cannot lose it's value because it hasn't got online capabilities. The time of year means nothing. Just because it's 2007 does not mean that all offline games should be judged on online play. Online play falls under value/replayability, it doesn't have it's own category. You can't hate on a game because it lacks a feature that only serves as a novel option. Also, no matter how hard Sega try, VF will not work online; VF is a fighting games, timing is everything, and online THERE IS ALWAYS LAG.

There is no point in arguing with them. They're like broken records, and have the same listening capacity as well. Thier missing out, and that's on them.

[QUOTE="shungokustasu"]I'm tying to start this revolution of fighting genre back on top. GS is not helping at all. What are they doing? Where I live the fighters are SSMB and Street Fighter 3. I have no VF friends. He does have a point there. However, you don't downgrade a game gameplay for that. Seriously, someone explain to me an 8 in gameplay? It's blowing my mind....Redmoonxl2

As I stated, this is the PS3's version of Zelda.

This a HUGE exagerration. People's heads were exploding over Zelda. Gamespot's community was pretty much split in twoover Zelda. VF5 got a few "LOLz!" and "mehs". This is a bad comparison.

[QUOTE="jdknight21"][QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="Blackbond"][QUOTE="Kahuna_1"][QUOTE="jdknight21"]

[QUOTE="Blackbond"] With 14 years of history behind it, the Virtua Fighter series offers a mature fighting system with plenty of characters that have been around since the beginning. Though the mode selection hasn't evolved much over that of Virtua Fighter 4, this fifth installment builds upon its predecessor's fighting system and is a better overall fighting game. If you're already on board with Virtua Fighter and you own a PlayStation 3, that statement should be enough for you to know that you probably need this game in your library. It's a fantastic fighting game with terrific characters, including some solid additions to the cast. If you haven't been following the series, it's likely that this game will feel arcane. It's not very beginner friendly, which may be a big deal to you if, for example, you're the average PlayStation 3 owner who's just desperate for something--anything--new. Either way, your enjoyment of VF5 is going to be a factor of your skill level as well as the number of people you have nearby to play with.

Ouch Jeff just owned the cows.
Dreams-Visions

Wow. You can check my history, I'm far from a cow, but that underlined sentence doesn't really seem appropriate for what is supposed to be a professional review. Regardless of any numerical score I'm disappointed that a reviewer would let his fanboyish side come out. I wonder if he actually participates under the guise of another name here on SW........No...I truly am curious.

yeah i thought that was inappropriate too, but i will rent it like i did with other VF games

Yeah it is pretty bad isn't it. That' isn't something that should be there regardless.

why is that a bad comment by Jeff? I haven't had the urge or desire to buy anything for my PS3 since November's release of Resistance. There ***IS*** nothing else worth buying. Especially if you own other gaming systems. He's 100% correct in his statement.

Calling people desperate for something or anything new when the brand has good backwards compatibility and people may be enjoying some or any new BR movies just doesn't seem professional.

I'm desperate for a new PS3 game worth my time and money. He's not a journalist, you know. He's simply a videogame reviewer. there's nothing that supposes his commentary must be politically-correct.

Lying is bad. :|

I'm really not bothered by the score, I know I'm getting a great game with VF5, and that's all that matters, not some random "Teh R3q1r3d" online mode. This generation is going to be pretty depressing.

Oh wow ... I guess I missed that this was coming out.  This was a Dreamcast game released last year, it was called Radirgy in Japan.  It's actually quite a lot of fun, certainly worth picking up when it comes out.

In case you're interested, here's a review of the Japanese version.

Hasn't Dreamcast been dead since like a month from it's birth.....I loved the DC but others were scared of superior gaming. I LOve nintendo and NGC isn't quite dead yet it just seems like it. but it will die soon enough.....Long live WII

Unfourtunately, it looks like Radio Allergy is going to be one of the rarer GC games in the US, as EB and Gamestop might not carry it. GameCrazy is confirmed to be getting shipments, but in very limited supply. *Sigh* :(

I agree with everything but the smart man part. :)

I agree with the guy who caled you a smart man. :P

I bought Genji and Untold Legends. Intelligence out the window...

But you know what, intelligence and gaming don't go together. Everyone knows that.

Though it helps. Besides, we all make bad purchases, it's nothing too big .
