I've had my laptop for about 2 1/2 years now. It's not the top of the line laptop, but it does what I need it to do and more depending on the circumstances.
Now that its at that age, upgrading is the best choice for me, but due to lack of money, I won't be going down that road for a while.
Here is my problem.
I recently upgraded my OS to Windows 7 Home Premium. When I first upgraded, the machine went through its normal paces just fine. It booted up a little faster, the screen was clearer, and it didn't bug out on me like Vista did.
Now, for some reason, what I believe to be my CPU fan is constantly running at full strength. The only times it ever did this was either during a quick run of Team Fortress 2, or even watching a long movie off of a DVD, but now its doing it even as I type this post. The only things primarily using my CPU are Google Chrome, Trillian, and the usual startup programs associated with 7.
What can I do to get this overheating to stop?
Here are my specs for my laptop:
HP Pavilion dv6000 series
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-58 (1.9GHz)
2.69 GB useable RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium
nVidia GeForce Go 6150
All help is appreciated!
