ok.. so let me get this straight... the SP1 only HELPS when you DISABLE everything...nice going MacroCrap. I'm with you Vasot... I've been using Vista for 7 months and finally upgraded with WinXP again... and now with SP3 out, its even better than before! Narok, Personally.. i like the look and feel of vista.. unfortunately thats about the only upgrade they did to the OS. I crashed it on a daily basis by simply developing on the system! Resource hog, and unstable as hell. Almost nothing is supported, and that which is is unstable. It's a shame really...Hopefully Win2008 will be better...but then again, hopefully Windows as a whole will be shuffed under the carpet and a whole new breed of OS is born out of the melting asses of the burning carpet... there's always hope.

Does anyone know how what the capabilities are when running on SLI ? I have a SLI mobo, so wondering if it would be better to add another GeForce 6600GT (128Mb, 128bit) and run in SLI, or wait a few months to actually be able to by the GeForce 7900 GTX. Also, is there any major diff when using GeForce with AMD, or ATI with AMD ? I've got a AMD Athlon 64 3700+, 3Gb RAM and my system still buckles when playing large maps / units etc. I'm hoping running in SLI will help alleviate some of the lag... any ideas?

I reckon I'll be hanging back with my XP for the time being. Sure DX10 gives amazing results, but looking at the benches above, it seems that Vista is almost always slower than the XP counterpart. My system is well beyond, AMD Athlon64 3700, 3Gb Ram, Unfortunately only have a NVidia 6600 Graphics card... so until I upgrade ot a more powerful card It won't really be worth my while. I can't understand the whole hype about Vista being specially designed for gaming and then churns out lower numbers than XP... idiotic. Backward compatibility should not penalise you at all... Good old XP SP2, trusted friend...
