This was a very well written article, I agree 100%.
Free online is one of the reasons why I switched to PS3, paying for XBL just isn't worth it. I did the math, if you paid for XBL this entire gen you would have ended up paying $370. That is a lot of money that could have been better spent on more games, buying another system, upgradind your PC, or given to charity. People that use the line "it's better" are fooling themselves, PSN does everything XBL does except cross game chat. And I think FREE >>> cross game chat at $60 a year.
I'm much more happier with my PS3, and PSN is great. I would much rather spend that money on PlayStation Plus, I get so many games and benefits from the service it makes XBL look like a complete joke. The big thing is though, is that XBL makes me feel kind of "oppressed", I don't really own Halo or COD or any other online game, I only own a portion and MS owns the rest, and I pay to "rent" the rights from them.
Nothing is better than going to the store, getting a game and just being able to play all aspects of it. Nothing is locked out, no one is asking me to pay another fee, it just feels good to have full access to the game I paid for without any strings attached.
@D4rkside99 Also most mods don't even work right. They are very overrated. However that being said, there are some truly good mods out there that do work, but you don't need them to enjoy the game at all.
As a PS3 gamer I am very disappointed with Bethesda. They have been giving us the finger time and time again and it makes us feel like they are treating us like second class gamers.
They are not very good developers in my opinion, they lack the talent and skill to develop for PS3. I love the Elder Scrolls Series, I love Skyrim, but it's not right to treat a portion of your fanbase like dirt just because they prefer to game on a different system.
Glad the game did well. Happy to see 360 getting an awesome new game to play, I may be a PS3 guy and I'm not personally the biggest Halo fan, but I'm still glad for my fellow 360 gamers.
Dumb fanboys are gonna hate, but this game is awesome! It's addicting and very fast paced, I stayed up till the wee hours of the morning playing this with a friend. I encourage everyone to check it out, it's really good.
I don't know why All Stars and Smash Bros both can't exist on the market, they are both great games and make their fans happy. I am a fan of both.
If you enjoy one you will enjoy the other, fanboys are the only one's who lose because they let their bias (rather lack of owning a system) keep them from enjoying a good game.
Glad to see they are owning up to their mistakes and admitting it, taking responsibiltiy for it. Even if I never get to play the DLC on PS3, Bethesda has regained respect in my eyes for coming forward and taking the responsibility for their mistakes.
It was never anything wrong with the PS3 to begin with, it's just devs not optmizing their games right. Most devs have no problems with PS3, this is evident in the vast majority of multiplats where they look and play virtually identical, one cannot tell the difference between them.
Perhaps Bethesda should give us PS3 guys something for having to put up with all of this.
Bethesda, I love your games but you cannot develop worth a damn. Sorry but if you can't make a good port then don't bother making it at all. Most PS3 ports are identical to the 360 versions, it comes down to devs not the system.
Bad ports also happen on PC from time to time, is it the PC's fault? No it's the devs. PS3 is the same way. That being said Skyrim on PS3 plays perfectly fine now after the update. But the lack of DLC sucks. Bethesda used to be my favorite developer, now it's Naughty Dog.
I don't care if it's a clone of Smash Bros, it still looks fun! I just hope the idea of "KO by special only" is better in practice than it sounds, it seems very confusing and unorthodox.
But regardless I'm liking the character line up so far and it looks fun as hell, I'll be keeping an eye on it. I wonder who the next characters are? They said they will be revealing more at Comicon next week.
