If outlaws was conceived to be a focused SP experience id be able to see the comparison.... The worry though is that because the game is so heavily built around micros and season passes etc, it's almost a shoe in that the sp experience is nowhere close to focused and is likely geared towards nickel and dimming consumers for paltry content.

Ohhhh...

Hmm, okay, thanks for the info. ;)

Star Wars Outlaws Seems Like the Other Side of Mass Effect's Coin

Story by J. Scott Thurlow

• 1d • 4 min read

  • Star Wars Outlaws is the first true open-world experience in the franchise, set for release on August 30, 2024.
  • Players will step into the shoes of smuggler and thief Kay Vess, who is focused on personal gain, instead of Commander Shepard and their goal to save humanity in Mass Effect.
  • This key difference in motivation should make for some largely different stories, even if Kay becomes more heroic as her narrative progresses.

Star Wars Outlaws, being developed by Ubisoft in conjunction with Massive Entertainment, is ready to arrive later this year as the latest game in the hugely popular IP. Though there have been dozens of entries under the banner over the years, Star Wars Outlaws will technically be the first truly open-world Star Wars experience. In this way, it shares an overarching connection to another epic sci-fi series with massive amounts of lore and history attached— BioWare's Mass Effect franchise.

BioWare itself is, of course, no stranger to Star Wars, as prior to Mass Effect, the studio's work on 2003's Knights of the Old Republic has since made it one of the most beloved and fascinating stories in Star Wars and beyond. KOTR is now regarded as a standout game of the era and a bonafide classic. Like it, Mass Effect incorporates heavily choice-driven narratives and factional reputation systems, along with third-person gameplay and RPG mechanics. Star Wars Outlaws is set to follow suit in many of these areas. However, there is an interesting contrast in a specific detail between the two, namely, the approach taken to their protagonists and their role in each's respective universe.

Currently set for an August 30, 2024, release date, Star Wars Outlaws experienced some controversy over its pre-order and deluxe editions.

Warner Bros Discovery's Max Now Has Nearly 100 Million Subscribers, Streaming Profit Up

Despite recent announcements over price increases and an ever-shrinking library, for now, Warner Bros. Discovery is on the up and up.

Warner Bros. Discovery has reported results for the quarter that ended March 31 with Q1 total revenues totaling $9.95 billion. Global streaming subscribers were at 99.6 million at the end of Q1, up 2 million in Q4.

The company is the combination of Discovery, Inc. and AT&T's former WarnerMedia wing, and is just over two years old. The merging created a colossal pile of debt having WBD pay down $1.1 billion of it in Q1 2024 with $43.2 billion remaining. It also created some controversy in how some programming was being marketed towards which demos.

“We are pleased with our progress in the first quarter as evidenced by strong results in important KPIs. We delivered meaningful growth in our streaming business with a nice acceleration in ad sales, generating nearly $90 million in positive EBITDA for the quarter," David Zaslav, President and CEO of WBD said in a statement.

Rare has nothing to do with Perfect Dark Reboot. The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics are deving PDR. :P

If Rare isn't involved with the new Perfect Dark development, than that's a huge red flag as I trust Rare than someone else handling the game.

Nope, Rare has continually been updating SoT and the only known other game Rare is working on is Everwild.

And man, I sure hope Everwild makes a showing in the June show a month from now. :D

Makes me think of the game Control. Just hated the layout of the building and its rooms and the map. Tried twice and both times quit the game long before completing the game. :(

@Pedro:

You know it my friend.

Notice I posted this info here instead of making a whole new thread about this news, but a cow must have saw this and used the info to create yet another Xbox bashing thread.

Also notice all those that portend to being just a fair bystander in SW are the same who've come out of the woodwork bashing Xbox the most. You also know who they are, I'm sure. ;)
