I'm not so sure about Resurrection but I owned Trilogy back when and in spite of the fact that it was a fairly bad game I had a lot of fun with it and played all the way through. It was all about the setting for me.

[QUOTE="Second_Rook"]The Dreamcast because they had the benefit of seeing years of controllers that didn't work well and still made a piece of junk. SpinnerwebOH COME ON! I loved that controller. It was like a speedboat *me turns imaginary steering wheel* :P Honestly, I liked it. Well for every ugly dog there's someone who loves it. :)
Calling it "funny" and calling PA "pretentious" doesn't really make it any less of a stupid, sense offending line.Anytime a writer spends a paragraph pointing out the stupidity of others the word pretentious is certainly applicable as he is definitely making a show of his imagined superiority. Besides I am reasonably certain that while the aforementioned line from Gears was not meant to be side splitting comedy it was written with a sense of humor rather than a belief that it was high drama.I mean... its stupid, and I guess the fact that you find it funny makes it MORE stupid since it was meant to be a serious line, as well as the fact that you would consider PA (the guys who put penis jokes into comic form for a living) pretentious.
Its like you showed me just how terrible the writing in Gears really is.

The line from Gears is about ten ****loads funnier than the Penny Arcade guys pretentious drivel. The games are great, but the writing... ugh.
Penny Arcade said it best:
"There is a point in which the rookie says there are a ****load of grubs down there. Marcus Fenix corrects him, suggesting that there are, in fact, "ten ****loads". I want to grant that Gears of War takes place on the planet Sera, where ****load may be a genuine unit of measurement- but that's dumb, and this line is dumb, and the people speaking are idiots, and they live in a world of dumb****s where stupidity is a form of currency."SPYDER0416
