I want a game...

1) that I can enjoy even if I don't play more than a few hours a week.

2) that isn't doesn't use the generic "select target, right click to auto-attack, mash 1-9 to use spells, win" formula (WoW, Rift, etc.)

3) that has a heavy focus on crafting/gathering resources in cooperation with others

4) that is a well polished game with a decently sized community

5) that is 100% free OR pay to play (will not play games that utilize microtransactions, it has to be either 100% OR a flat rate fee for everything)

---

I didn't enjoy EVE because the game has already been around for too long, and the way the system works, it is literally impossible to "catch up" to people who have been around as long as you. Veterans of the game will tell you that this doesn't matter, newbies can still be an asset, but I don't like knowing that no matter what I do, I can never be on top.

I really really enjoyed a small game called A Tale In The Desert, which is a resource gathering community game set in ancient Egypt. Sole and only problem I had with this game was the complete and utter lack of population.

Not even remotely interested in Minecraft.

It's really annoying to be a loyal member for so manyYEARS and then innocently make a terms of violation mistake only to get a really unfriendly/impersonal warning in your inbox :( Bleh.

Anyway, I continued researching all night, and the short answer is that there is no way to do this without getting a really expensive box converter. But even then, if you continue down this path, I would do a ton of research before buying. I suspect the suggested LKV8000 will not PLAY games for a PSP-2000 because the input port from the PSP into the converter is NOT Component (appears to be serial?I'm really confused. It says "PSP Cable" yet I can't find any PSP cable that would fit into the serial-looking port that the LKV8000 has). It's been specifically stated all across the internet by disgruntled buyers who didn't read the fine print on the box, your PSP-2000 must be connected via Component to actually play games, whereas PSP-3000 will take pretty much any input to play games.

On that note, I continued to look for other box converters, to convert directly from Component to regular AV cables, and unfortunately I couldn't find anything less than triple digit prices :( Sort of negates the purpose when you could just spend that money to upgrade to a PSP-3000.

And for anyone else doubting my ability to look at the back of my TV, lol, it's a Panasonic TH-P42G1. I live and work in Japan, and as such, bought it here. If you can read Japanese, a simple Google search will show you, this thing is HDMI all the way for HD, no Component. I would absolutely LOVE for someone to prove me wrong, perhaps show me a secret hidden Indiana Jones style panel one has to break open to use Component or something, lol.

Thanks.

I have an HDTV that does not have Component inputs. I have a PSP-2000. My TV supports HDMI, S-Video, VGA, Composite, and D. I want to play myPSP games on my TV. I understand that the only option is the Component cable for playing games. But my TV simply does not support Component. How can I play PSP games on my TV? I don't mind buying an adapter or converter, if only I knew for certain what would work.

Thanks.

Ugh, so I'm in Japan using a Japanese PS3 and a Japanese account. If I log into the US site for PSN, I get all these cool features like trophy viewing, the ability to add games, favorite games, rating games, etc. from all Playstation systems from PS1 to PS3 and PSP. Problem is, many of my games are Japanese titled/Japanese only. Example: Lunar Harmony of Silver Star for PSP. If you search this on the US PSN site, it doesn't come up. So I thought, well, I'll just go sign into the Japanese PSN site and add it there. Problem is, you go here, http://www.jp.playstation.com/psn/(the Japanese site), and you would THINK you'd click the big blue "sign-in" button in the top right, and that would be the end of it. But if you sign in, it only takes you to Account Management, with very few options other than changing your password, your download history, and so on. There appears to be no option anywhere to get Japanese access to features like trophy viewing, friend comparisons, much less the ability to add your Playstation game library/search games. WHY?

As a test, since Hong Kong and other Asian countries have easy access to Japanese versions of games, I logged into the HK site. Sure enough you can see info on Japanese versions of games. You click My Page though, and it tells you to select a country, you select HK, and then it just loops you back around to the original site where you clicked My Page, putting you in a never ending loop of nothingness.

This is so annoying! I just want to be able to have all of my Playstation stuff unified and listed in one place, regardless of what country I bought it in/from.

Going slim. Like 29,000 yen, about $290, $300ish. Should have it by Sunday. Going to a friends place on Saturday just to try a few games out first. Can't wait to play me some Demon's Souls :D
