This isn't enough! I'm done with loot boxes! Long gone are the days where games would have ground breaking stories and gameplay. Now it's all about how much money can be made by forcing players to grind so that they spend more money on loot boxes. If this is the present and the future of the games industry, then I don't see a reason to play AAA titles anymore. I'll just save my money and spend it elsewhere.
@gregrout: Thanks a lot. I just signed it and shared it. You sir are a good man! Unless you're a woman with the name Greg, then you ma'am are a good woman!
Loot boxes are totally games of chance! How many idiots does any government need just to figure this out?!
If that's all you need to determine whether it is gambling, then it's black and white. Opening a loot box is a mini game of chance within a larger game. Just like a slot machine, the odds of winning are so little that the house always wins. In this case the publisher always wins if you spend money. Players aren't spending money to buy a particular item. That would be a micro transaction. Players in these games are spending money to play games of chance with loot boxes. This, over and above the money they have spent for entry or participation, 60$.
This wont hold. All they need to do is scrap their season pass and increase in-game cosmetic microtransactions to fund their DLC. I would love to change my soldier's look in Battlefield, I would pay a little bit for it. Although I am Premium subscriber, this whole season pass era seems to finally be on its way out. Fingers crossed, every game purchaser can play all these maps in the future. #goodbyeseasonpass
