Eldanesh1 Yes, you're right. Some people might find it easy to play FPS, or RPG more than others, but that's just a minority that might think this way. And like I said before, this is my opinion, you don't have to agree with me, and I like that you came up with a good valid point that I might have not touch when I said what I thought about this news. I could be right, I could be wrong, who knows?

Eldanesh1 I think we're talking about consoles here, not PC. By bringing the PC into this, you're saying that it's superior than the 3 major consoles out there (Wii, Xbox 360, PS3). If you're talking about horse power, than, yes, PC will undoubtedly win if it were a really High-End system, and it might also win in connectivity with other people. But the thing is that a maxed out PC can cost somewhere between as little as $2000-$4000 to almost $12000, if you were to customize it with the latest in Graphic Cards, CPU, RAM, and the other specifications that a PC has; but a console is more accessible because it doesn't cost quite as much as a really good PC but can deliver great graphics, superb Internet connectivity, and lots of fun. I mean unless you're really into PC gaming you shouldn't have spent more than $2000 for your PC. Regarding RTSs, they're making their way to consoles slowly, but they're coming, and one day all the good games that you're currently playing on your PC will become available to you for a console that you hopefully had bought, at least I hope that'll be the case.

gordanfreeman53 All the things that you said are true to us gamers. But if you were to show a Wii or a DS to your mom or dad, they might say "that looks fun, can I play?" Nintendo wasn't aiming the Wii, or the DS to us, it was aiming it at the mainstream consumers. I think that by doing this, they're expanding the spectrum of gamers to a more variety range of game styles and genres. To us, the only good games are First-Person Shooters[FPS] (Halo, Resistance, Metroid), Role-Playing Games[RPG](Mass Effect, Oblivion, Legend of Zelda)/Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game[MMORPG](World of Warcraft), Racing games (Forza, Gran Turismo, PGR), and any of the other genres that we love to play. But do moms and dads find it fun to be shooting or cutting enemies in front of their kids, I don't think they would. So Nintendo didn't create the WIii/DS for us, but instead for your mom and dad.

AgileNate Thanks, I appreciate it. And just because I say what I think about how to define Hardcore, does that mean you have to agree with me? Hell no, that's why we leave in the U.S. (or most of us do), right?

Packfan104L4 Alright, if you're referring to me, at least say my name to be a bit more direct next time please. How did I bash on Nintendo again? By saying that they're not Hardcore, is that it? I don't see what's the big deal, the Wii/DS was created, like I already said, for people that don't usually play games, or for people that love Mario (who doesn't), Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and the whole lot of other big franchises that Nintendo has under their belt. I'm not saying that that's not Hardcore, I'm saying that I don't think it's hardcore. I hope you get my point 'cause that's what I think, but I also respect your opinion. And regarding the Halo 3 avatar, what's wrong with it, I think it's cool, I could have chosen an avatar from Gears or Mass Effect, or any other game that I like, so I don't think that's something you should have brought up to back your argument up.

gigaSheik Ok, fair enough. I thought he was only referring to the African continent and all of it's habitants, but humanity as a whole is a totally different matter. I agree with you though. Any of us could get out of their rooms, or instead search the web for a place where you could volunteer to do something for someone else without you charging them a dime, but what's the problem with this? Our very own nature, that's what it is. I know this will sound stupid and very selfish, but our nature is that "if I don't get something in return for helping you, then I won't help you". That's the thing, we're all corrupt at some level; we cannot do something unless we benefit from it one way or the other. I just opened a pandora box so, I just won't continue with this cause will be too long for any of you to read so I'll just leave it at that. If you agree with me, great; if you don't, I'd like to hear why.

hstolar Ok, I'll take your argument. First, what is to be a hardcore whatever (gamer, producer, sportsman)? If you do, or in this case play, something a lot then I think you'd be consider to be hardcore. If you play every now and then, than you're a casual whatever, in this case gamer. We could all be hardcore if we play video games a lot, but, yes like you said, the Wii is intended or was made for consumers that don't regularly, or have never play a video game before (perhaps when they were younger, but nothing more than that). I think, (my opinion) that the games that the Wii/DS have, not all though, are for casual gamers that might find it fun to play for a couple of minutes then get back to their usual routine (work, do exercise, go to school, do chores, whatever), but then there are gamers that actually play video games as much as they could, that if they could choose between going to school/work, and playing video games, I'm pretty sure that most of us would choose the latter. I kinda understand what you're saying, "if you play it, or do it a lot, your hardcore", but I think it means "if you play it, or do it a lot and find it challenging/fun then you're hardcore". This is my opinion, and you don't have to agree with me, this is just my point of view.

gigaSheik I don't think he/she, or any of us has more than a billion dollars to spare to put it to work at Africa to make sure that kids wouldn't starve to death. There really is nothing that we, normal people, could do 'cause we don't have THAT much money to spend on helping others. It's like asking the entire world: "Please, let's have a world peace, where anyone could say whatever they wanted to say, but did it in a orderly way." Who's gonna listen to that? Not many people.

I don't think this such a good sign. When a company as big as Nintendo has a lot of money (talking in the Billion Dollars range) it means that they're either are gonna keep on making good games or are gonna start making bad games. By bad, I mean that they will be fun to some people, but not the Hardcore gamers (all of us that visit sites like this). They won't be planning on making games for the Hardcore gamers anymore cause they know that we're either too busy playing Halo 3/Gears/any other cool games you might be playing on Xbox 360 & PS3, and maybe, just maybe Wii/DS (Metroid/Resident Evil/any of the few cool games that they have). I hope that Microsoft & Sony can catch up to Nintendo, or it might mean bad news to us all 'cause when there's no competition among companies, they become lazy, and don't come up with good products that really-interested people might buy, but instead will be bought by your mom, or dad, or even your grandma. So I don't see this being really good news for us Hardcore Gamers.
