Well, Battlefield 1 came out a little over 2 weeks ago and despite also playing Titanfall 2 and Mafia 3 I've managed to put almost 50 hours into it, so...

The difference between 4K and 1080p IS huge, but let's not forget that much of what we're seeing on console isn't an adequate comparison. I own a PS4 and a high-end gaming PC and have played Titanfall 2 on both. I believe it's 900p or 1080p on PS4, but with everything maxed on PC the textures, effects, and framerate easily edge it out. It's not a night and day difference, but it's a noticeable difference.

Ideally everybody would be playing at Native 4K and 60fps, but no console has that power (and PS4 Pro and Scorpio won't) and it can't be accomplished on PC without ridiculous specs. Maybe we'll see it become more of the norm on PC once the 1080Ti launches.

I say yes. I was one of the people that was a Day One adopter on PC, and honestly? It was the first and only game I've used Steam's new refund system for.

I think the game has / had potential, but I couldn't justify paying for what little "gameplay" there was at $60. Shit, Flower and Journey were much better experiences at a fraction of the price. If Hello games had released a game with all the features they talked about, then it TOTALLY would've been worth full retail price. Instead what we got is a game that felt ambitious, yet uninspired. Expansive, yet incomplete. "

I said in my refund request that I would repurchase the game when the content of the game was increased, the price was reduced, or both. That still holds true. Either way, I would've buy it now because I have WAAAAAY too much shit to play.

I think it comes down to how well-made the game is. My favorite open world games in terms of content and design are games like Red Dead Redemption, Fallout 3 / 4, and inFamous 2. Games that I consider semi-open that I love are the Arkham games and Bioshock games. The Uncharted games are probably my favorite linear games.

Overally, I'd say open world or semi-open world are my favorite games because there's so much to do and explore, but only if that content is meaningful. A game that's big for the sake of being big and manages to feel empty somehow isn't any good, which is usually my issue with the Assassin's Creed games.

As many here have said, it depends on the game. I'm the kind of person where I would rather play a short game multiple times rather than play a long game more than once. I Platinumed Fallout 3 and never went back, but I've beaten Uncharted 2 like 4 times. If it's a worthwhile experience and I don't have any other pressing games to play, I'll play it again.

That being said, with all the Steam games and PS4 games and limited time I have now, replaying games I like is becoming less and less of an option.

@Ryan_Som: I really don't care either way.

60fps is nice but I've never experienced any game at 60fps that was vastly enhanced. 60fps is smoother and nicer on the eye nothing more.

30fps has never impeded my ability to play a game. I think the people who make out that 60fps somehow improves how a game plays is blowing it out of proportion.

I can understand sub 30fps being a problem for gameplay. When I played Witcher 3 on PS4, fighting in Crookback Bog was an issue because the amount of graphics on the screen made the fps drop to below 30fps.

At solid 30fps though the fighting was fine and more than responsive enough.

I'm actually interested in playing Dark Souls III at 60fps. I plan on buying it for PC the next time it gets a big price cut. I know some people think games like that feel sped up at 60fps, but I'd imagine the fighting is more responsive.

DS 3 plays excellent on PC, there's no frame pacing issues either that the console version suffer from, on top of being 30fps. Definitely worth picking up and it's on sale atm -35%

Yeah, I got a notification about the sale. I'd get it, but I'd like to see if it goes cheaper on the Halloween Sale.

@Juub1990: I just meant in terms of a game with higher graphical intensity. I was getting a consistent 90fps in the Battlefield 1 Open Beta and also get framerates from 90-120 in Saints Row 4. If I had GTAV, I imagine I'd get better framerates as well.

If you have a game that you think would be a better comparison, I'd gladly check it if I have it.
