The main advantage of a console over a PC is that you have the assurance that all games will run on it for the life cycle of the system. You're telling me I no longer have that assurance? That's... terrible
As much as I love AC (and I do!), this is all too much. I don't even have the newest pair yet but I'll be playing them next year and, by the time I'm through them, Victory will probably be just a few months away.
For me, it's not even so much about the quality of the yearly releases. AC always excels at immersion and story telling and high adventure, which is why I play them. Sure, there are technical issues, but most of them can be fixed in time.
What I hate is how my it spoils my experience as a fan. What happened to making me wait a year for a couple of screenshots? And then another whole year for a trailer? I know this was leaked, but I'm sure we would have seen it soon regardless. I want to be teased, and to savour the anticipation! Make me feel as excited as I was in the run up to AC2!
Got this coming to me with a PS4 for Christmas. I think I'll really enjoy it despite the fact I don't tend to play racing games. One thing that turns me off of them is how complicated they can get with upgrades and customizations for individual cars. Keeping each one as a showroom model is enough for me. So long as there are plenty to choose from, a few race types and some sort of career mode then I think I'll be happy. A racing game for people who aren't racing nuts?
