As said before in this thread, the reason why Crysis 2 has sharper and clearer textures and other effects is because the environments are much smaller and have infinitely less stuff to render than Crysis 1 did. Which makes it easier to optimize, as the AI has less pathfinding to do, there's no destroyable trees, no foilage etc.

I personally think Crysis 2 looks good and better than the Original in a few ways, but as a whole I still prefer the open-ended envrionment of the original Crysis over it. And there's no doubt that when speaking of things techincally there's far more advanced tech behind the Original. Like I said though, Crysis 2 looks great in what they intended to achieve.

No the game is in-complete in its current english version. They decided to strip the gun effects out lol and everything else with the exception of the english voices. I don't know why they would do such a hack job, they made a good game.

That sucks man. :( I was getting a decent 1mb speed.

For those wondering about the service, first of all it's a lot like steam where it's a program that holds your games and simultaneously downloads/installs after you purchase one. It has a nice professional interface, nothing looks amateurish - I would even say that it looks better than steam in a few ways because of its simplicity.

But unlike steam, when it comes to playing offline, you don't to engage in an offline mode before hand. When you play your downloaded games all you need is beam dog running.

As a whole, I like that the client that download and installs at the same time but I would like for the game to be seperate from the client. In that regard, I don't think they differentiate themselves enough to be that strong of a contender in the pc digital market unless they make a way where your game is installed straight to your hdd with no outside client storage. But for $4 it's no biggie personally right now. :P

With this being just for the Digital Version, as the Hard Copy is stilll $50, I think Amazon is just trying to get a cut of the Digital Sales as Shogun 2 is topping the Charts at Gamersgate, Direct2Drive and Steam ever since it released.

Makari

The game is Steamworks - it doesn't matter where you buy it, it's being activated and run via Steam in the end.

Yeah I know. I was just saying that every digital distributor had a special on Shogun 2 in order to give an incentive for people not to buy it on steam eliminating their cut as basically the middle man. For instance Gamersgate had the $15 in house store credit when you would preorder it from them and D2D had 20% off with a coupon, and now Amazon flat out cuts 20% off at release. Unless people wanted the exclusive TF2 hats that steam was offering over savings, it was a pretty big incentive to buy it from the other guys.

Well the game is still selling. And they did a similiar thing with the original Modern Warefare as it rarely got any digital weekend deals and stayed at a moderately high price for awhile.

Thanks for the Russian sound downloads, I can't believe they shipped the English version as it is. Why cut out all of the sound effects and just leave the few English voices and music? :?

Other than that it appears to be a good game, especially if you enjoyed the first Boiling Point. As this is more polished all around, with more character interaction as you progress through the story, and ontop of that its world is much more fun and better designed.

Nice find :D. The gamersgate price for for White Gold was a little much for me.
