Hello, I have recently been looking into Colleges for a possible future in the video game industry. While I know the types of courses recommended to be successful in such a life, something has peaked my curiousity.

I have a number of friends living in Chicago, including a girl who I am very close to.
Problem is I currently live in south-eastern Ontario. But am willing to move for schooling and then eventually a possible career.

In terms of comparison, I know that California has a lot of studios and is well-known to be a strong state for video games.
But what about Chicago as a city? I understand that EA Chicago was forced to shut down due to over-staffing. And have looked at a few of the studios based on that location.

Just wondering if anyone had any insight on the situation?
Just for kicks.

I recently purchased a new HP setup and upgraded the monitor to the HP w2408h upon consideration. The good news is that I love the thing to death, it looks beautiful and makes the entire package really come together.

But something has REALLY been bugging me. In the connection panel there is a slot to plug in my speakers, but it does not work. The display runs at 1080p when playing my PS3 and looks really nice, but the sound is using the monitor speakers, making it sound dull.

The package had come with a connection that went from the monitor to my sound card, which had made the PC sound come out of the monitor. Obviously, I would much prefer to use the two surround sound speakers and sub-woofer when using my computer.

I am pretty serious when it comes to video games, so this minor issue is something that I can't help but be annoyed at. When I plug my speakers into the monitor and attempt to play my PS3, it just uses the monitor speakers like nothing even happened. I looked at the on-screen settings as well as various support guides and FAQs, and have had no luck.

If anyone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions I am more than happy to answer them.

Ninja Gaiden Sigam, Heavenly Sword, or Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Also when you do get your PC in, you should definitely get Mass Effect assuming you haven't played it on 360. The PC version is way better anyhow. It's one of the best games I have played in a long time.

Actually, Mass Effect is sitting in my pile of "to be played" for when I get my new PC.
Along with Bioshock / Age of Conan / Crysis

I need to pick up a game to spend my weekend on since I will not have my new PC gaming rig until Monday. I could just play the games I have, but I can only spend so much time trying to hit 100% on my games and playing online.

I noticed that my local EBgames had Lair on sale due to the "GameDays". I was wondering if anyone had a chance to experience the game after the developers had added analog controls as well as a crosshair to the UI.

Have the changes made it worth picking up?
If not, can anyone recommend a game I may enjoy?

I have R&C, Resistance, GTAIV, Warhawk, Burnout Paradise, GT5: Prologue, Uncharted, Vegas 2, CoD4, Devil May Cry 4.
Please do not include PSN games as I have too many as it is, and I enjoy them all.

I was also considering Heavenly Sword.

No PC games, please. I already have a stack of just-boughts waiting for the new rig to come.

[QUOTE="Rockin_MixMasta"]

How am I being cheap?

I don't feel like paying a monthly fee when I have a perfectly good PS3 sitting in the next room that doesn't require any fee at all.

I've had my fun with WoW for 3 years, paying each and every month, and I am cheap?

darkmagician06

lol sorry and why the need to bring the PS3 into this? what i ment to say is dont expect WoW quality out of a free game.

I brought the PS3 into this because it is a factor into how I play my games?

I just don't see a point in paying anymore, that's all.

I never said I expect WoW quality, I am just saying I would like to know if anyone knows of a good alternative to a game like WoW. Jeez. Get off my case if you have nothing helpful to say.

Recently I have decide to quit World of Warcraft, for many reasons.
But that is not why I am here.

A few friends of mine, as well as myself, have taken interest in the free-to-play mmorpg market. I have played a few before, but I won't mention which ones because I want all input to be equal.

So I will just go ahead and ask..

Can anyone recommend what they believe is the absolute best F2P MMORPG out there? In terms of popularity, community, stability, quest layout, UI, and anything else you can think of.

Keep in mind we would like to quest together every once in awhile.

Please, before anyone says it, we have already passed on Guild Wars. Partly because a few of us already played the thing to death back when we thought it was cool, and because we are looking for a 100% completely free product.

Any input is appreciated.
