Well, shes only a game character so it doesnt really matter.

But looking at the artwork, Tifa's bust is proportionatly larger than Aeris' (I find it funny she appears to pull herself up with them in the ending sequence!)

Quite informative, good to see how far they stretch back! I've always preferred Moogles to Chocobo's to tell you the truth, probably why IX is my favourite Final Fantasy game.

Looking at the back of the FFVII case, it states "Over 120 Minutes of mind blowing cinematic sequences." So FFX's cut-scenes are about average considering it involves the majority of the plot developement too, where as VII's were mainly to show specific events, without any talking.

If I remember rightly, most of the cutscenes in FFX were realtime (the ones with them talking were anyway), I imagine Squeenix will have done the same with XII, but yeah I gret your point, the gameplay felt mroe broken up than in the previous titles where the text would appear on the screen.

isc 1 is indeed great, probably the best Intro to an any RPG, but if that was the whole game it'd feel very broken and unfinished, you'd be left thinking that it was a terrible story and not knowing what happens next, the howl thing with Sepiroth and Shinra wouldnt be sorted out, and you wouldn't care as much about the characters duie to the fact that you've only just got to know them properly (up until the end of disc 1, Cloud kept most of his opinions and feelings hidden for example)./

On a whole, the game is fantastic, and is still incredibly playable today, almost 10 years on (from its EU release in 97) but Disc 1 would never of worked without the rest of the game being there.

As far as I'm aware, KH2 is getting a late April release in the US, but the EU doesnt have even the lsightest hint of a date for either FFXII or KH2, damn there being so many different languages for them to put into them!

I'm looking into getting the Shin Megami Tensei RPG's but dopnt have a US or JP PS2, The only one I know of that was released on European shores, was Nocturne (its called Lucifers Call over here) which I'm going to get pretty soon.

I LOVE Disgaea and quite enjoy Makai Kingdom also, but I'm not all that interested in FFTA, I just cant get into it. In fact a couple of GBA RPG's I've found difficult to get into, I quite like KH:Chain of Memories and Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django, but never got on with the Golden Sun games, the characters and story felt lacking in something.

Its obvious we all love the Final Fantasy series, but do any of you devote your time to any other RPG's, do you favour eastern styling (final fantasy, grandia) or western RPG's (fable, KOTOR)?

I love turn based eastern rpg's at the moment I've got Final Fantasy's VI through to X-2 all on the go, along with Grandia 2 and XenoSaga Episode II, Magna Carta is getting a European Release on the 7th of April and I'm getting that and I'd also love to get Dragon Quest VIII which is launched on the same day.

I really enjoyed KOTOR and quite like Jade Empire but they feel mroe like Zelda to me, which in my opinion is mroe of an "Adventure RPG" than your classic RPG, but that hasnt stopped me wanting to get the new PSU, Dark Chronicle (Dark Cloud 2) and Zelda: Twilight Princess.

To add to this, what do you define as an RPG? as all games could be classed as Role Playing as your taking on the role of something your not, Gran Turismo your a racing driver, Mario your an Italien Plumber in a strange world, VBib Ribbon your a dancing wire frame rabbit, its certainly a cloudy genre if you ask me.

As has already been mentioned, each FF is set in a different world, a world where there isnt such a thing as Oriental, Western, whatever.............

In saying that, some of the characters do have earthly appearances (I dont mean in the fact that theyre human!) in that Yuffie appears oriental, and Barrett, for some reason, reminds me of an American Football player. I think this has been done to add familiarity to the characters to help you associate with them better as if you look at something like Grandia 2 where the characters dont appear to be split into earth like regions, the characters a tiny bit harder to care about.

You may notice that in FFVII: Advent Children, all but Barrett, Cid and Vincent all have oriental appearances too.

It has to be KOTR, cant you cast that numerous times using W Item or something (ive honestly not quite got to that part of VII yet but have seen the majority of the game)
