Hey

Thanks for the replies

My PC is well within range of the router and I get "very good" signal strength (4 out of 5 bars) and as I say, when its working, its fast, stable etc etc.. then it just drops off.

in regards to drivers, they are up to date, and changing channels? I am not sure how to do that.

That said, since posting I have been doing some other investigations and have now disabled IPv6 which is apparently a new broadband protocol which Vista supports, however isn't actually in use by any of the major UK ISP's yet.

It was suggested that this can cause problems, and since disabling today, I haven't had a drop off since. I am not counting my chickens just yet though! We will see after a few days if the drops off's have stopped.

Hey All

Ok weird problem.

I own a ****** Wireless G desktop card which is currently in my PC and works fine.. for the most part.

I am running Vista 64 and the card is Vista "certified".

The issue I am having is that for no apparent reason, i lose connection randomly. if I try to reconnect, Vista detects my wireless network fine (so the card is detecting that) however if I attempt to reconnect it can't.

This happens randomly, sometimes failing to connect when I boot my PC up, sometime never disconnecting and everything in between.

The only solution I have come up with to reconnect my PC to the net, is to disable my wireless card in device manager, and enable it again. After that everything reconnects fine.

Any thoughts?

Or failing that, can you suggest an alternative PCi card that work with vista 64.

Thanks guys, any help you can offer would be apprieciated!
