"Think of the lack of new units we saw. People havent had enough experience with it yet."

Most important thing to think about when it comes to HotS' current metagame. If the pros haven't got the game figured out by now, I seriously doubt Daniel does either.

One more thing; Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with this review pointing to accurate flaws with HotS (Story), but IGN's HotS reviewer took the high road in saying that he cannot even begin to comment on the game's balance accurately. I think everybody, including the SC2 community, regularly forgets how deep this game is at this point.

The problem with any feedback this early in the metagame is that we're not even close to getting a clear picture on how the game should be played. New units weren't just added, everything from upgrades to abilities have been completely removed (Mech upgrades), changed (Burrow is now Hatch tech), or remade to serve different roles (Reapers in general). Taking this as a whole is too much to take in and confidently discuss a little over a week after the expansion's release.

Bnet forums aren't going to reflect that reality I spoke of and will devolve any discussion into a crying game of balance. Going by the history of "balance discussions" from the community, we wouldn't have Zerg or Protoss champions in pro leagues because Terran is always best. This is why merely pointing out what the community says is meaningless; you need a ton of facetime in multiplayer before you can begin to understand how these additions and changes should be used before commenting on their effectiveness, otherwise you are just parroting ignorance. I have a hard time taking anybody seriously when they say that the viper's biggest flaw is that it falls to superior air units while ignoring their potential as a unit. Infestors fall to superior ground units, and they ultimately were WoL Zerg's most important unit. Funny enough, when WoL was released, infestors were deemed useless. People will never learn.

To paraphrase the review on MP balance, "Zerg is Underpowered/hard to play, Skytoss is overpowered."

One Protoss made it to MLG Dallas Winter 2013 Semifinals, Zerg wins whole tournament. Wat.

Also, it doesn't take a pro to know that commenting on multiplayer balance without understanding how the game work is foolish. To lament that an automated siege unit is ineffective on it's own and that a Zerg air spellcaster is too vulnerable to focus fire is the most hilariously bad commentary on a game's metagame I have ever heard. I wonder how you felt about infestors on its own being weak against superior ground units. Stay free, Gamespot.

Protip: It doesn't take a genius to figure out that using drones to make disposable evo chambers is a cost efficient way for vipers to gain energy. Also, have them be escorted if you don't want to lose them.
