i think the game has amazing graphics and action, as for the difficulty, the fact that its so hard is why i want to buy it so much, difficult games are so much more satisfactory and exiting, it feels so awesome when you finally beat that impossible boss....but those rocket launching guys seems kind cheap...
in my opinion, you shouldnt name one period of time a golden age of gaming. videogames in the 90s were innovative, exciting and you couldnt wait for what they came up with next month. in the present, games have stunning graphics, amazing physics and stories, every year has its finest games and worst games. nevertheless i agree with you about how fun videogames were in the 90s, also that was when videogames were starting to rise.
