I agree with most of this article. Im a ps3 owner and I agree that ps4 will definately need to do something amazing, otherwise I may switch over to the xbox 720 (or whatever theyre calling it). But there are a couple things I dot agree with. One, I have no idea what Hilary is talking about with this "first person shooter dilemma". If the controls feel too loose, all you have to do is go to the options and lower the sensitivity a bit. There is no "dilemma" with FPS's on the ps3. But really, thats not a huge issue. Second, I dont think ps3 should do what xbox did by forcing people to buy extra add ons for extra cost. It should be all inclusive (within reason). Maybe Im the only one but Id be pretty mad having to shell out a ton of extra cash for add ons that should already be there.
The sad thing is, even though we all hate fake trailers and false promises, were still going to keep buying these games. Developers know this and thats why fake trailers are probably never going to stop.
I agree with what Kevin is saying here, I think a lot of game developers and companies just want money and there willing to use any form of enticement to get us to buy their games. But I think gamers are as much a part of the problem as the developers. Us gamers always want new and exciting stuff and we get bored easily (dont say we dont), but when people try to change something that we love we get all pissed off and start bad mouthing companies for what they've done.
I'm perfectly fine with banning innapropiate material from children, but no matter how hard the governmant try, kids are still going to come into contact with that kind of stuff. Things such as accidentally accessing a porn site or watching a violent movie late at night when your parents are asleep for example, are unavoidable. In fact, the government is probably just making things worse by banning innapropriate material because then kids will want to know what they're missing and go out of they're way to find it.
