@Atzenkiller: do what you want. I'm responding to the assertion that console gaming is cheaper. Which is false. Why would anyone except for the most hardcore enthusiasts spend $1000 on hardware every year? It's not really about trends, it's about affording yourself the best gaming experience in your price range. Also, ps4 pro being intended for 4k is a marketing tactic. It's main appeal will just be playing games at 1080p 60 fps at higher graphical settings. Which the ps4 is currently incapable of for the majority of AAA titles. You can settle for whatever you like but comparing the cost of your PS4, bought in 2016, to a budget build with a 480 is pointless considering the budget build can out perform it by a factor of 3 or more.

@Atzenkiller: Na, they're not more expensive. There's always a way to get games cheaper on PC either through sales or 3rd party sites (or in the case of overwatch simply priced lower). Did you buy a PS4 around launch? Than you spent over $500 just to have the console, one controller and the ability to play online for two years. And now you're going to spend another $400 on a PS4 Pro? I'm sorry but as soon as they announced mid- cycle upgraded consoles, the only good reason to prefer console gaming went out the window. I get it if people would rather have something more convenient, though. PCs can be a bit of a hassle sometimes.

@gamingdevil800: I think it had more to do with how much money they made from releasing separate versions of the game with increasing degrees of polish with each iteration. People upgrading to new consoles or PCs in those windows of time were incentivized to re-buy improved versions of the game, when at least the PC upgrades should have been released within a few months. Many bought it on all 3 occasions, 60 bucks a pop. That's an assumption based on almost no technical knowledge, but just experience buying PC ports.

IIRC Red Dead Redemption never came to PC due to poor documentation of the code or something like that. The development of that game had controversy surrounding it including mistreatment of their employees, so it wouldn't come as a great surprise that problems arose. Plus, back then, porting a game to PC was a much bigger deal because of the need to code for x86 processors.

I don't think they're outside of their rights, I just think it's a disgusting business practice. The people who think this is just fanboy squabble are ignorant and have probably never experienced a shooter without aim assistance.

@nl_skipper: I just don't think you understand what the issue is. I guess it could have been said a bit nicer. Obviously GTA has more fans than just children, but I think that satirical generalization is fair considering the ongoing state of gta5s online component(abhorrent). I'm open to civil discussion but, obviously, it's largely a matter of opinion and experience(or lack there of)

@nl_skipper: No one cares about first or second. People care that it isn't even announced for PC, really making it look like another GTA5 situation where they milk their (now predominantly child)audience for every penny they can. It has nothing to do with personal preference. It has to do with objectively low quality. You really showed your hand with those idiotic assumptions though. Thanks for popping in to tout your ignorance based neutrality.

Martin Scorsese is announcing the production of his new film but you can only watch on VHS on your old tube top with a built in VCR.

Oh, you've come to expect a higher quality presentation of media in 2016? Too bad. Go see it again in a year when we release it in theaters.

Edit: more like two

@Barighm: That's the one. And I'm sure the RDR2 will be the same considering the high expectations of the visuals running on these outdated machines.
