This year was kind of a letdown. I mean any year that delivers Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, the Orange Box, Assassin's Creed and a whole lot more I'm sure I'm forgetting (except Halo 3- I returned that one) sure warrants some complaining.

Imperial Guard hands down coolest faction. Gotta respect humans standing up to the super powered man and xeno infested universe.

In all honesty, do we care? Before you discredit me this is not a Halo bash, but more along the lines of a plot bash. What connection do we have with Master Chief besides the fact that he's a Spartan on a mission to kick some ass and forgo the names. We haven't seen his face so we can't have a personal connection with the superhuman, his dialogue is limited to one liners etc so we have no character depth. If he dies I can say I won't care because to me it'll be like shutting down a robot. I'd say a cooler ending would be for him to win and then have no idea what to do next. No covenant, no heroes needed, just a super soldier with no more battles to fight. Now that would be interesting.

its a great game, its just not for every gamer.Betaslayer
I agree with you there. I tried it, I didn't care for it much. (I kept comparing it to oblivion unfortunately) But my brother is addicted. And after watching him play you start to see why some enjoy it so. It's like diablo, fable and baldur's gate all wrapped into one. And we have a sneaking suspicion that the cruddy beginning is just that. Poorly written and acted, but later on the dialogue and such improves. Or at least that's what we noticed at any rate. The best way to judge games is for yourself. If you let people sway your opinion by a simple line "X game sucks" then i pity you.

Yeah, easily actually. I was disappointed by death really not being a factor in your success. Although I tried to get through without dying as much as possible (as you should :) ) when I did, I didn't get distraught at all. It should cost money or something, then I might've cared. But still, I loved the game and it really was fun. The story was fantastic and really sets the bar high for other games.

Yeah, hamachi. You need to download s VPN (or something) so the game uses the hamachi IP instead of the computers.

C&C3 is pretty good. However, Company of Heroes is more akin to Dawn of War, and still very popular. It's a great game and fantastic RTS. If you want something different Supreme Commander is a great strategic RTS. But, it's not for everybody. Just try some demos out.

I have a friend whose College internet is very security heavy, and as an unfortunate consequence, he can't get online to play any games. I've used Hamachi in the past to get passed this, but I can't remember the steps! We like playing Company of Heroes, and I know that you had to download a new way to start the game for AoE3. Is there a vital step I'm missing for us to play? We both downloaded it, and he was connected to my private network, but my game wouldn't show up under LAN. What am I missing? Thanks guys.
