I'm sure this has been mentioned before (probably many times before, too) but I was just wondering how come nobody ever releases older, classic games that never made it to America and/or Europe, as downloadables for PSN, XBL, etc? I see that Final Fantasy 7 is SOMEHOW still the #1 download on PSN, despite how I can get a copy of that game on Amazon for next to nothing, but what about re-releasing Seiken Densetsu 3 (sequel to Secret of Mana, I believe) or releasing games that were cult classics, games that didn't get the attention they deserve? A lot of people have been raving about Secret of Evermore and Lufia II for Super Nintendo ever since the SNES became "obsolete" and outdated.
This argument mostly applies to games that were only released in Japan, or just games in general that I'd have to pay over $200 for if I wanted to get it off ebay (Radiant Silvergun?) I mean, I paid $40 for Secret of Mana for the SNES, and I hear it's been released on Wii Shop for (I'm assuming) about $10? I paid $40 for Ikaruga for Gamecube back when it came out, and it's now on Xbox Live, isn't it? So the reason they don't release these games most likely doesn't have to do with being unfair to the gamers who bought the game when it came out and are keeping an expensive cartridge or disc hidden in their stack of games.
I dunno, anyone else even slightly agree with me on this? Maybe it's time developers and publishers release games a ton of people missed out on, on PSN, XBL, and Wii Shop? I mean, as opposed to games like Final Fantasy 7 or Final Fantasy Tactics?
