The LAN adapter should work. It doesn't really matter what company makes it. I use the Nintendo Wifi adapter and it works fine for me though and my Wii is about a floor up from my comp. I don't have any problems with it and it gets a good signal. It cost me $40 I think. I got it at target.
The graphics so far are pretty smooth on the Wii. SSBB will probably have some of the top Wii graphics this year. The Wii is beginning to prove alot of people wrong graphics wise.
