I remembered the first time I played OoT back then, it was unlike any other game i'd ever played. Getting home from school it was one of the things i looked forward to playing and finishing. It may not be the best game I've ever played, personally, but when taking a look at the entire lifespan of the gaming industry and seeing what this game accomplised in its time, I have to put my personal opinions aside and say this is the greatest video game ever made.

Given its 10 year anniversary, I should consider this as one of the games our Union plays next.

Looks like we have enough people now to get this Union going so I will start on it tonight. We're still looking for more founding members to join so I'll still be taking friend requests. Also, we need members who are skilled in different thing or are interested in helping in different ways (creating banners/logos, moderate the forums, recruit members, etc) so let me know. We'll need all the help we can get.

We're still looking for members right now, so if anyone else is interested in joining and being founding members of the Union send me a message or let me know on here.

You can still have a blast playing only with a guitar (Guitar Hero 1, 2 and 3 were great games after all), but obviously you'll be missing out on a lot of what the games have to offer. At leat try to buy the drums for either game, that way you'll get more out of it; and playing with a friend or a group of friends is also the way to go.

But if you can only afford to play with a guitar, then i recommend you get Guitar Hero: WT since in my opinion it has the superior guitar gameplay. But if you wanna try drums and the whole band experience, Rock Band 1/2 is the way to go.

Hmm, I think it would be best to turn this idea into a Union, thanks for the advice guys.  I wasn't an active member on this site so i wasn't aware of what Unions were but after looking around the site, I think it would be good to turn this Gaming Backlog idea into a Union.  Like a book club, but for gamers.  So if anyone is interested in joining, post here or message me to let me know and if enough people are interested, i will start a Union dedicated to playing and at the same time discussing older, classic or underrated games as a group.

And if anyone wants to help me create the Union or look for members, I will gladly accept all the help i can get.

I thought about this while listening to the 1up podcast. It's a great way to dig up old games we have or haven't played and engage in conversation. We all have games that we missed out on but thought about playing or games that we played before and considered having another go at it. This would enable us to do that but as a group and at the same time discuss what we think of the specific game years after the first time we played it or our first impression of a game we've never played. It's a neat idea but also kind of tricky and would require some commitment from those involved.

At first we would all have to agree on which game to play, we could have a vote. After that it'd be everyone's responsibility to acquire the chosen game and start playing it at our own pace, without a time limit, as long as we post our opinions and impressions as we play. Spoilers would be marked in case some of us haven't played the game before and we'd all have to post continuously to let everyone else know our opinions and how far along we are. Then eventually once all of us (or most of us) finish it we could discuss the game in full detail Here's a good example: Shadow of the Colossus was very well received by critics but didn't really have the blockbuster sales that other game have. For that reason some of us have played it and loved it, while others have definitely heard about it but never played it. It's a game that's not that hard to find in stores for cheap, therefore a great option for everyone involved, even those on a budget.

That's just one example, there are countless of other games to consider, as long as we all agree on it first. Just throwing it out there, as i thought it was a neat idea.

I like to believe that it happens to all of us. I don't think there's any gamer out there who hasn't been overwhelmed by a certain game. It rarely ever happens to me but off the top of my head, some of the few ocassions that forced me to give up on a game out of frustration were: The Twin Ivans from Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicle (which i've yet to return to). and most recentrly Ramm from Gears of War (on intense difficulty).

I had also given up on the song Hangar 18 from Guitar Hero II on expert. After probably 20 tries i just let it go and didn't comeback to it until months later, where i beat the song on the first try, literally.

What good console MMO's can you guys recommend? I've recently finished playing Silent Hill: Origins and wanted a change, so i really wanted to find a good MMO i ould get into. I'm not a PC gamer at all, so obviously that rules out most of the popular ones out there. But regardless, I'm sure there's still a good amount of decent console MMO's that I'm not aware of.
