I like what I've seen so far, and though the price is a little bit higher I don't mind staying loyal to the brand that has brought me 8 years of awesome with the Xbox 360. Probably won't get it at release, but not long thereafter.

As far as I can tell, Xbox.com suggests technical difficulties... so meh?

At least you're able to play on a standard def TV. This is why console gaming is quickly casting a shadow over PC gaming, because even after you buy the console and the things that come with it, you're still paying less than you would for a PC that's up to date with dual processors and two fairly expensive graphics cards or one really expensive graphics card plus all the nice things that need to come with the comp. If you try playing new or newer games on the PC with old hardware, you might as well forget about it, but in console gaming it's more forgiving with regards to TVs and such. And you've got at least a five year garuntee on the console before the next one comes out.

Ya know, it's hit or mis and that's the truth. My console I got at release and has worked fine ever since, but my friend has had to send his in and resend it after getting it back. The first time it took them three weeks to get the console back to him, and the console immediately gave an error message and scratched his Halo 3 disc. The second time around he got a working console, but no Halo 3 disc which they promised to replace. He's had to make an appointment with the 3rd manager up on the ring after going through two other managers to get this straightened out. My suggestion is, if they're jerking you around then you just need to talk to manager after manager until you get a hold of someone who sounds remotely capable of making things happen for you.

On the flip side of all that, I've had friends who have sent in their consoles and had world class service, getting them back in less than 2 weeks and never having another problem with the send back since.

I run 720p on a 22inch and my friend has 1080p on a 40inch and honestly I don't notice any difference. I would say my eye sight is pretty good, but maybe I'm in left field at this one. But I've never noticed any difference, so... I think you'll be fine!

I wouldn't worry too much about the lag, I haven't really encountered any myself in some time since I've been playing. That's one of the things XBL seems to be very good about - server quality.

Yeah I'd rather them take their time on this one, because this is going to finish up the series and I don't want any "we ran out of time" cliff hangers going on. Something that was just terribly apparent in the making of dvd for the last one and the way in which the second one ended.

Well you'd be speaking Japanese and enjoying turn-based RPGs with ridiculous stories and terribly long/boring cut scenes. Just kidding, but maybe not too far off from the truth?
