Of all the ads and reveals I've seen, the social aspect of the Wii U was not part of the main branding, whereas the PS4's branding emphasized its social aspects a lot. If it's because I've missed a certain ad or, reveal or something similar, do share it with me - I always enjoy having my horizons expanded. Secondly, in regards to the asymmetric gameplay with the DS, I've stated no such thing. I apologize if I've been much too idiosyncratic in the construction of that/those sentence(s). Thirdly, I'll have you know that I have a very vivid imagination, and I am well aware that the gamepad can also be used as a touchscreen controller, touchscreen inventory, touchscreen shortcuts in fighting games, touchscreen decoder in Batman Arkham City Armored Edition, etc. Again, I was speaking of branding, and again, do share, if I've missed a particular ad, or reveal or something similar. @Suibot To each his own indeed. I for one have been missing a way in which to share my single player experiences, as I most often play single player games such as JRPGs. Sharing video clips with your friends so easily is a nice breath of fresh, much-needed air for me. But thank you, for respecting my opinion, as I respect yours.
"Innovative" and "unique"? Try "gimmicky" and "done before". The DS had a second screen too, remember? Sure, you couldn't take it 10 metres away from the main unit and play your game on it alone. They said that they were targeting the more hardcore crowd, right? How many hardcore gamers share their screen with the rest of their family? That's the only use for this "innovative" piece of junk; playing an 8th gen game on a screen different from the family's TV if necessary. Nintendo was great with their state of the art motion control with the Wii, which sadly was not utilized well by third parties. -That- was innovative and unique - unlike this bulky piece of junk. The Xbox One is bringing cloud power, and the PS4 is bringing the social aspect into even the single player crowd - and their both bringing a more powerful machine that allows for even more immersive experiences. Nintendo should wake up to reality. They were great then, they're sucking now, on the home console market. The 3DS was innovative and unique - the Wii U is not. It's an oversized, multi-part DS with HD graphics.
