@noandno Its a space sim kind of a cross between Wing Commander and Freelancer. One where you can go online and trade, pvp and explore with friends or just play alone as a single player or with a couple of friends on a private server.
Its set across our galaxy and you can explore to find jump points, if you are the first to find the jump point the game names it to your character so its unique.
The ships you can buy now with real cash or in game via credits, anything you can buy now can be bought in game upon release you just have to earn the credits for them. Chris Roberts does not believe in pay to win, its his game so it will never be like that.
To get a general feel for what this game is about play Freelancer or Wing Commander.
It runs on the CryEngine 3 and its being pushed to the limits by Chris and his team.
Also you may wish to look at Elite Dangerous which is another space sim by David Braben another Kickstarter funded game.
@Lhomity @GamerNerdTalk And still my PC will run all that and make games like Skyrim, Eve Online and the Witcher 2 look far better than any console can. All in HD which the PC has been doing before the consoles ever got round to it.
Consoles are one trick ponies, they can only do certain things and will never be as powerful as the desktop pc. Your going to weep when Elite and Star Citizen are released for the PC only.
What is the point to playing a game where the main character has died? We all know what happens and our choices make no difference to the ending so why pay EAware money for DLC?
So Video games can be educational as well as fun, violent with a great story to them.
Well if they do manage to bring this law about in the US the games companies are more than welcome to come to the UK as the games industry here I think is still tax exempt because our goverment sees it as a boon to the economy.

I have played video games for most of my childhood and adult life. I consider it a hobby. The majority of the game has violence involved in them in some way through the sotryline or on screen actions. It has never made me want to pick up a weapon and go out and kill other people though.
The actions of these people are the same as those men and women in the Dark Ages where they would blame a goat and kick it out of the village for crimes that people would commit. How can a book, video game, film, song or music make one person go out and kill people ?
Anyone who thinks this realy needs to take a long hard look at themselves and remove all sharp objects and guns from their homes. Because they are the unstable ones who may end up shooting other people for no reason.
I have been playing video games since the ZX Spectrum was considered cutting edge. And in all that time I have never had the urge to go out and kill people or cause harm due to the violence in video games. I see them as interactive books/ films more than anything and play them for the story.
How many people can remeber the disscusions about Dungeons and Dragons and VHS films being bad for people to do and watch ? Same thing going on again but with computer games. Its time the media stopped the scare mongering and reported real stories not ones based on fiction.
I am really enjoying The Secret World. A good storyline gameplay and sandbox game play. The world is rich for anyone who wants to RP and there are no server restrictions so finding groups is never a problem if your server is empty as you can group up with people on different servers. One of the best communities I have know in any MMO as well. Its certainly a game for an older mind as the missions require you to think about the clues your given.
If you wish to be spoon fed quests and clap happy with elves then this game is not for you.
