Don't think there is. However a good start would probably be to find some tests for the games you want to play with your GPU.

That's a good idea, thanks :)

I don't know of any software that does that, but why not set everything to low and work your way up until you get to the framerate you want?

That's what I've been doing, well, working my way down from high :P I just wondered if there was an easier way to do it because some games require you to restart the game to change certain options (eg.fallout) and it gets pretty tedious :/

Allow me to expand on the title. I was wondering if there would be a way to set the frames per second I want, then the visual settings change so I could achieve that? E.G. 30fps on BF4 everything ultra, if I set fps to 60 things would go down to high/medium etc.

Many thanks :)

@115gaminguk: Thanks for the response. I had a look but they're at least £100 more than building it myself, and that was compromising with some parts :/

@O0mix0O: sounds like a reasonable build, good decision on the external too, I would recommend a small SSD if your budget can take it just for booting purposes etc, makes a massive difference

Thanks :) I'm really trying to bring it to £600 tbh. I think maybe early next year I'll pick up an SSD like you suggested just for the OS and maybe one or two games. I also aim to pick up another 8GB ram by summer (Y)

@kraken2109: I hardly use discs but I know I'll need one for OS install, antivirus, EA games, other software etc. And the difference between an external dvd drive and a blu ray drive is £5 so I thought I'd get that so I can build up a blu ray collection. If I had an internal one it's taking up room, blocking airflow etc. and it's not worth it for the little I'll use it :)

Will I really need a CPU cooler? I didn't think it would get hot enough to need one? I won't be OCing it + I have 6 fans :P

Only if you plan on overclocking. If not, the stock cooler will work fine...

Awesome, the only thing I might OC is the graphics card :)

Hi all, many thanks for you suggestions :)

@2. I'm kind of strapped for cash at the minute so I don't mind having to upgrade in a few years :)

@3. Again, pretty broke, even a jump of £30 is too much tbh. I am planning to drop the card to an R9 280x.

@4. I'm not that bothered about 1/2 stick debates but it's good to know thanks :) I heard that a bit ago there was an explosion at a RAM factory causing RAM to sell quicker and rise in price. I wanted to drop the RAM to something about £40 but it's all sold out, the build below is the cheapest RAM in stock atm :(

@5. I've been recommended this card by a few others as well, thanks.

Due to friends/forum suggestions I've created this amended build:
