@TenraiSenshi @Dannystaples14 Fortunately it's not like that. You are viewing the screen through lenses so that your eyes are not focusing on a close object, they're in a relaxed and natural state. It's a clever optical trick.
Most potential discomfort from the Rift is due to software not properly designed for the display and an individuals own propensity for motion type sickness. Some folks get car sick for example, others have no problem, others are fine if they're driving but not a passenger, etc...
Given how close Chris Roberts seems to the Oculus team I think there's a safe bet that Star Citizen is going to be one of the showcase or even launch Rift titles. Just a guess though
@DIGN Right now? Go with the VITA. The consumer Rift is still maybe a year out, they haven't given a schedule. The dev kit isn't worth getting just to play games right now, only get that if you plan on playing in the SDK and developing games.
@meatz666 They're hardware developers not software, it's up to everyone else to build things to play out it - they just give you the tools. They did just launch Oculus Share
I am here to express my outrage over this $1,000,000 edition because it's TOTALLY real and not just a joke/promotion. I mean, this kind of over-the-top, absurd idea is just not in keeping with the games usual serious nature and realistic, down-to-earth tone. It must be real.
@feathers632 I am a VR expert, I even have a degree. I can tell you that the Rift is not only a gimmick but a health hazard. Wearing any HMD device for longer than five minutes will cause your eyes to literally explode. This isn't speculation, this is science. Trust me on this, I went to VR university.
