@drwaldy why would anyone want to work as a soldier? That's a pretty volatile enviroment as well.
We who work with developing games do so for the love of our medium, for the creative possibilities, the technical challenge or some other reason and I'm sure soldiers have their own reason for choosing that sort of career.
@Dizzy1976 The ironic thing is that the publishers might actually make more money off of a studios second title if no staff cuts were made.
you are absolutely right that developing a game costs an insane amount of money, but if you could implement all the lessons learned from mistakes from the first game into the next, with all the original staff still working for you, you might actually end up with a title far better than what is being produced by established developers today.
@Bahamut_10th as well as Unity 4 is going to be on par with Unreal engine 3. which is pretty damn impressive considering that unity was primarily developed as a web/mobile game engine
@sockmonkey12678 the game is actually about 6 hours long, but due to a minor bug the in-game timer resets itself after each checkpoint, after you die, read a journal etc.
@McGuirex3 We actually never wanted to make a Shadow complex clone with Deadlight, we took most of our inspiration from 80's games such as prince of persia and flashback
