I got AC4: Black Flag from Steam and started it up for the first time today. Sadly, there is no sound at all in the single player. None in the top menu, and none when I start a new game. Strangely, audio in multiplayer works fine, as do all my other Ubisoft and Steam games. I'm running it on Windows 7. No dedicated sound card, just whatever my motherboard and/or graphics card use. Realtek HD audio and maybe something else. One thing I checked was to make sure the Communications tab in Sound is set to "Do Nothing." And of course I've restarted and had Steam check file integrity. Not sure what else I can try to fix this issue. Any suggestions?

Seem to be a lot of Shenmue fans. I guess I'm out of touch. I've never even seen Shenmue and have absolutely no idea what kind of game it is.

Wow. I've never owned a Microsoft console but come on, their conference was light years better than Sony's. For one, it actually looked like a real production and not the poorly constructed crap that Sony threw out there. That was amateur hour. Sony's presenters were lackluster and the pacing was horrible. And Microsoft actually had some announcements about their console, with new exclusive games. Sony showed off OLD exclusive games, and new multiplat games. Let's see, console innovations... Microsoft: backwards compatibility. Sony: some cable TV service only available in like 4 cities. Gee, tough call there. I'm more interested in Playstation's future games than XBox's, but Xbox games are coming out now while all the Playstation games are TBD. That makes for a much more exciting conference.

M$ had a pretty solid conference. Not a lot of games blew me away but backwards compatibility is huge and if fallout 4 mods r exclusive to PC/X1, thats a stunning blow to ps4. I'm gonna be seriously pissed if thats exclusive to Xbox. But I'm sure Sony will drop some megatons

Yeah, that's the big thing. They didn't specifically say that Fallout mods were X1 console-exclusive, but I kinda got that feeling. That's a huge advantage for them if true.

Microsoft killed it with their press conference. Sony had better have some surprises up their sleeve.

Normally I'm really excited for some game or another heading in to E3, but this year I can't think of anything I really want to see. Maybe Kingdom Hearts III, though I doubt it'll actually be there. Of course there's Fallout 4. If there are inovations in the gameplay then I'd be interested in learning about that. If it's just a newer version of Fallout 3 then I don't want to know any story details or anything. Cyberpunk 2077? Is that still happening?

I was really just looking for something to play in the waiting room. I ended up getting PathPix, Quell, Buttons & Scissors, and Mahjong.
