The trouble is that EA and other want all games online so that means multiplayer.

Cartridges got replaced by a far cheaper physical alternative, the ability to have a physical copy of the game is still here, just in a different format.
Computers will take over the office, there will no longer be a need for paper, get with the program or get left behind.
Although computers have become a major part of the office just like streaming will become an important industry neither will kill off the highly practical and needed alternatives. Just like paper, fully installed games have very good reasons why people will still use them.
