nice writeup. I moved to Linux for my main PC since about 2.5 years ago and really happy after doing so.

Still have a gaming PC though running windows and adobe creative cloud. But it's used only for those two purposes.

I really recommend giving Linux a try. It does have a learning curve. But honestly I feel you'll fall in love with it just as I did (far more comfortable than Windows and Mac OSX once you become familiar with it)

And if you need any help getting started with the essentials (from video players, editors, shortcuts, tricks, download managers, etc..) reply here, or PM me and I'll hopefully write a quick step-by-step what to do when installing a new linux.

The distros I recommend is either Ubuntu, or Kubuntu (if you have a good PC),
