[QUOTE="Shrapnelled"]What's good on a console = Mediocre on the PC.pundog
So why are Bioware's RPGs that appear on both the Xbox and PC consistently rated higher on the Xbox?

They usually don't compare games across the platform. They standardize acording to the games in their respective platform: "We Rate Games According to the Current Standards of Their Platforms and Genres"

Compare to other RPGs on PC, they figure that bioware's RPGs do not live up to the standard as they do in Xbox.

Putting it into perspective, Halo CE on PC included entirely new online multiplayer option, much better visual improvements, and new contents such as new maps and weapons. All I see in Halo 2 for PC is higher texture and resolution, Windows Vista requirements, and how MS forces PC users to pay for Windows Live. In another words, its another milkage handed down by MS to PC users after 3 years of waiting.

Whenever a reviewer gives a bad score to a video game, the fanboys label the reviewer biased. Whenever a reviewer praise a video game, the fanboys praise the reviewer as if it deserves the score even if the game is highly over rated. This applies to almost all video game franchise. Unless you have actually played Halo 2 for PC, you don't have the right to say whether or not the reviewer was biased. Maybe it was a bad port, period. The reviewer gave 6.6/10 based on what he thinks the game deserves. As for me, I haven't played the game, so I don't know if the PC version is bad or not.

[QUOTE="batistafan99"]Macs can play all Windows Games, because of Bootcamp. The only problem is crappy hardware in the Macs.PikaPichu

Macs do not have crappy hardware.

Mac Pro hardware

  • Two 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon "Woodcrest" processors
  • 1GB memory (667MHz DDR2 fully-buffered DIMM ECC)
  • NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics with 256MB memory
  • 250GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7200-rpm hard drive1
  • 16x double-layer SuperDrive

All just for $2,499.00 whoop de do! Seriously, I would rather not get ripped off by Steve Jobs.

I played all these games except for call or duty series, and I can safely say that Counter Strike beats them in terms of online experience.

However, despite the fact that CS is the most popular/most played online FPS game in the world, I highly doubt that it has chance against Halo in Gamespot forume due to the fact that vast majority of people here are console gamers.

Lemmings will probably beg Bill to balance the gameplay for 360 users by claiming that they stuff more money into his pocket as usual. People will go around breaking wrist of every PC gamer who play this game and force them to play blind folded so that controller users can claim ownage.

[QUOTE="MikeE21286"]Thanks for all the advice and the links guys. I'll probably just stick with this laptop seeing as how it can play the new stuff and it maxes out old stuff ( I just d/l'ed the demo of HL2 and it ran real good on all settings maxed out.........god I wish I woulda had a PC when that game first released, I"ll probably buy the game tomm.) But some of the PC games now are really intriguing me like Stalker, C&C3, Supreme Commander, etc. PC gaming's got some great titles that have released this year (probably the best lineup over any console so far) and I'm gonna play around with some games for awhile. Anyone have any preferrences of Stalker over HL2, or vice versa?PowerCharged

just get a ps3 man, its cheaper and have better graphics

You can just stop trying so hard

Those are really really nice, but they look kinda touched up to me. There's just absolutely no aliasing at all, and you never get that.Teufelhuhn

Probably high resolution + 16X anti aliasing

This guy seriously need to look over the title before posting. Comparing every sci-fi TV shows, movies, books, video games, and comic books I've read, Halo doesn't even come close to having memorable story line.

No one know the power of either consoles, People throw up raw numbers like it means something, Theirs a few examples of why Crysis could done.

1. Half Life 2 is 1 example, Ported over to the original xbox with only 64mb of ram,

savage161

Porting a game to any hardware, no matter how reasonably outdated it is, does not prove that console can run Crysis at the level of gaming PC. Porting Half life 2 to xbox, like you've mentioned, does not prove that somehow console can squeeze out power to compete against PC performance. Developers made too many graphical sacrifices to compare it with PC version of HL2. Not to mention that resolution was a joke compared to what most PC gamers play at.

Having HL2 running on a machine with 64mb ram doesn't mean anything -it doesn't prove that consoles are special in some way. A few years ago, some modding community tested HL2 on various PC. They managed to pull off HL2 on a machine with Voodoo2 graphic card (8 years old video card) and 64mb or ram. It looked like utter crap. So saying that "LOL they pulled off HL2 on a 64mb console" doesn't tell you that it was playable, nor does it tell you that consoles are "special" and that Crysis can be ported with reasonable sacrifice.

Just look at 1:02 and tell me if that's an auto aiming (ie. aimbot). Don't deny it.

lespaul1919

there is NO AIMBOT ON XBOX.

plus, that dude is a pro halo player....you gonna tell me he needs to cheat to destory people? no.

halo PC does have aimbot though.

Pro or not, aiming right at the wall and blatantly hitting the guy standing 10 feet away is a form of aim assist/aimbot or whatever you call it.

The last time I checked, the PC version of Halo:CE did not have auto aim. In fact, it was unplayable online before the patch due to horrible net coding.
