People pay too much attention to blizzard I think.

Don't get me wrong. Blizzard is a very good game developer. but there are many companies that mostly create good games, but people don't pay attention to them as much as Blizzard. of course you may ask ,then why blizzard gets so much love and others don't? well I say, god blessed Blizzard.;)

I don't think they're overrated. They make pretty solid games that have lots of replay value and attract a wide demographic. They know what the majority of gamers want...I'm surprised they haven't made a really good FPS yet :P

I just found out about this band. I'm a big Chris Cornell fan and I'm wondering if this will be a good album to buy.

If you were tempted to try WoW then you might wanna look at Runes Of Magic.. very WoW-esque. Guild Wars is another good choice, though the only place you see other players is in towns (or in your party).carlosjuero
Yeah, it's not really a game played for the community interaction or persistant-online-world gameplay. It's all about the quests and arena PvP.

Definitely Guild Wars. It feels like a cross between an MMORPG and an ARPG, with a little Magic the Gathering. It's an online RPG you can actually beat and replay at a harder level, too.

Normal, when I replay the games, I set it higher.

This. I've done it for a handful of games, though, like Dead Space and Far Cry 2.

Dawn of Discovery looks like a pretty good game. From the review, it has a steep learning curve, but you can keep playing and playing.

You should definitely try Dungeon Runners. It looks a bit like WoW but it has more of a Diablo-esque ARPG feel to it.

If you can fork over $50 for a game, try out the Guild Wars Trilogy. It's subscription-free and it's pretty darn good.

Definitely Titan Quest. It might've been Diablo II if I had played it when it came out, but TQ did it for me. I liked how it was pretty linear and you really didn't have to visit the same areas for very long. You could just PLOW through that game :-)

[quote="dnuggs40"]Ahhh...I can still hear the founders (people who paid $150 upfront for a "lifetime" subscription) cries to this dayzomglolcats

Yeah, in the online/MMO market, paying for a lifetime sub is not a wise thing to do. Of course, if I had that option with WoW, I'd have saved a lot of money lol. But the MMO market is too unpredictable to justify that cost upfront on launch of a new game. Too many have been canceled.

I realize Hellgate wasn't an MMO, but the principle is the same.

I think LOTRO has a lifetime membership and that's the only time I've seen it work fairly well.
