This is why I pay someone to watch trailers for me and then explain them to me in the most vague way possible.

Counterpoint: Pre-ordering Xenoblade or The Last Story tells NOA, "Hey, we really like original games that are intuitive, have a moving story-line, and that's all around awesome. GIVE US PANDORA'S TOWER!!!!!" *Ahem* Sorry about that. But there are ups and downs to pre-orders, but I don't see the whole system flawed, just some areas.

Well written article, Laura. I have to say it's absolutely true that sometimes CGI trailers can over-hype a game. Although, I'm a sucker for the GoW "Madworld" trailer. I swear that made me buy the game. But I'm glad it did.
