@abcdefgabcdefgz @MaLazer Yes, but I doubt just the RAM will really hold back how games will run on the PS4.

I mean, it's RAM. In gaming. It's not the biggest requirement in the world, and I highly doubt it's gonna be the fault of this gen needing to be replaced. Besides, we still don't know every little aspect of what the OS will do in correlation to the gaming, and later models we probably slim down that need for 3.5GBs or RAM later on.

So ya, it's a lot for an OS. But it doesn't need this much bitching and it doesn't need people fanboying all over the god damn place even though they have no idea what it means.

Yes I realize that 3.5GB is a lot for the OS, but does that mean that the 4.5-5.5 GBs for gaming is absolutely terrible?

No it doesn't. It's not the end of the world and it's not the end of PS4.

And FYI, I game on PC.

You don't need 8GBs of RAM to run an amazing game. If all that RAM was dedicated to just games, we'd have a slow ass OS (remember the XMB load times when you pressed the PS buttons in game on PS3?) and wasted RAM.

Did you guys (commenters) completely forget that the OS takes up resources? Or did you just want to wait until someone said it out loud so you could complain about something again without having any idea what it means?

@Gulski @MaLazer Which would be nice, but not only do I not have an android device, but there's also a difference between a device dedicated to streaming and an app being used on any android device. Android devices are never really consistent with hardware, and probably not as dedicated to streaming as this...

I'll try it out when I can though.

If I had the graphics card to use it, I'd be all over this thing. I like the idea of being able to play my steam games from anywhere in my house, that's pretty friggen awesome, especially since I don't have to sit in front of my TV everytime I want to play something.

I don't like the price of $300 too much, but by the time I upgrade my graphics card and get a Nvidia one, the price will probably drop more.
