What I'm trying to say is can I just buy any 17" screen or do I need to look for something specific to the ASUS brand? If its something specific, what should I be looking for?

Considering that my laptop hardware skills are pretty weak, I'm in need of some assistance. I've already learned how to actually replace the screen, but have absolutly no idea where to shop for one or what specific details I should know when making a purchase.

The laptop is a ASUS G71G with a 17" screen.

Can anybody point me in the right direction so I don't screw up and buy a screen that isnt compatible?

1) Combat is ugly. Civilians will die. The military tries to minimize that, but there will alway be civilian deaths. Get over it

2) Most military members couldn't care less what others think of us. We have done more in one year that civilians will do in a lifetime. Sorry.

3) It is plainly stated in our oath to protect the constitution. That includes you freedom. Regardless if our mission serves that purpose or not, we still agreed to do it.

4) Whatever

5) The military is more concerned with the desicions of its chain of command than with civilians........just saying.

6) Have you participated in OEF or OIF? Do you know what those are? STFU. Thanks.

7) The M4 Carbine has a maximum area of effect range of 600 meters. That means that we need to be that close in order to put effective fire on taliban forces so we can make some pink mist. Don't like that? Fine, you kill the enemy, we will drink some beer and talk smack.

8) I was drunk when I posted this.

9) If you really want to thank a soldier, buy him/her something to drink. Shaking hands and exchanging words take time out of our day. Go away.

10) CNN, NBC, FOX, etc etc never get the whole story. Remember this.

11) RPG's suck. Stay away from them.

12) The French don't suck. They are actually cool dudes.

13) Same goes for the British, Ausies, Canadians, etc etc.

14) A mission is a mission. When Im told to kill, I kill. Men, woman, children, whatever. If they pose a threat to me, they die, and we live.

15) If enough of us die, and enough of them live, then you die.

Shall I continue?

The first time this happened, it scared the hell out of me....now its just a normal expected annoying occurance in my life.

Sometimes, when playing video games for long periods of time or watching movies, listening to music.....anything when my computer needs to generate sound, the sound will begin to drown down really deep then turn into this high pitched screaming. I can tell that it is still trying to process everything, but it just all comes out really high pitched. The issue resolves itself when I restart the comp, but just the fact that I haven't been able to fix it is starting to grind my gears.

SB x-fi fatal1ty (or however that kid spells his name) sound card

asus rampage II extream

intel qx9650

nvidia evga 280GTX

If you need any more info just ask and you shall receive. ty.

Im not sure why, but it seems that many a person still thinks that Iraq is a failure. I don't blame you, though, not even my folks watch the news anymore.

[QUOTE="M1Hunter66"]

It looked bad before I watched it, but since so many said it was so good, I gave in. I watched it. It sucked. Totally way too unrealistic. Of course, this is just my opinion. I still want to know why so many think it is so good.

If you saw the movie, and thought it was good, please tell me why.

Your opinion only matters if you are actually in the military and know how realistic it is

Then my opinion matters. The Hurt Locker is the first serious attempt at making an OIF movie that I have seen yet. Sure, you had Home of the Brave, but that was focused more on the stories of returning soldiers rather than the war as it is in Iraq. Because of this, many people look to this movie to provide them with insight on what happens on a day to day basis for your average joe with boots on the ground. The Hurt Locker fails in this aspect because the plot is so far-fetched and so unrealistic it projects nothing authentic. Im not trying to troll. I just couldn't understand how anybody could think that this movie was any good. I have come to the conclusion that The Hurt Locker should be lucky that ignorance is bliss.

A war movie about a real war needs to have some element of realism.
