Does anyone play Lode Runner DS?

I created and saved a custom map from the map editor.

But I have no clue where can I access the custom maps and play them?

The only way I know is to test the map in the map editor. But I don't think it's the only way to play the maps that we create.

After all, I think the idea of digital distribution on consoles and handhelds are brilliant. Imagine you only need to bring your DS. All your collections are inside. No more selecting what cartridges to bring with you when you are traveling and such. Imagine you don't need to pull out and push in cartridges if you want to switch games. We're talking abut efficiency and speed here. If we use SD card to save, we can save as many slots as we want (as long as memory isn't full). Sometimes developers are too stingy that they only offer 1 save slot (!) in a game. SD card can save any digital contents. Probably you can open your text files, read game walk-throughs, listen your music, your movies with your DS if you can use SD card to store those data too. The same kinds of benefits apply to consoles too.

Digital distruibution may seem good, but i don't like it. SD card slots can only store so much memory before you have to buy a new one, and lets face it, getting a game via intenet takes a lot of time and memory. Not to mention all you can do is delete the memory of the game, with real games you can trade-in for other games, which saves money...

You don't need buy more than 1 SC card. You can always backup your contents of SD card. Connect the SD card to your computer. Then burn a disc.

First of all distributing digital contents doesn't mean it must be done on Internet. You can buy a disc from the retail, or the retailer simply transfers the contents to your DS. How convenient!

If it's done on the Internet, I can't see why it must take a lot of time and memory. If you are using broadband, downloading a DS game shouldn't take too long. After all you just let it download in the background. It doesn't really matter how long it takes. Press to pay to download a game. Go sleep or go for a ramble. Your game is ready when you are back. ;-)

You no longer need to worry about supply problems, game running out of stock etc.

If developers can save money to print game manuals, make cartridge, storage fees, shop expenses etc., the game can be sold at a lower price. We all benefit. We help saving the environment and all.

When everybody starts paying for games without a box or a disc/cartridge, people will realize that there's no difference with just downloading it illegally. Its just a huge boost for piracy.

I don't think there will be a huge boost for piracy if downloadable games are available on the console/handheld. Actually it may be the reverse. Think about it. In fact downloadable console/handheld games are already available in the underground. You've done it already if you want to do it. You don't need wait until the retails offer downloadable games.

Take PC games as an example, you are required to insert the CD when you play the game. I have already owned the game. I've installed it. It's annoying that I can't play straight from the computer. A person who has the cracked game can run straight from the computer, but not a legitimate customer. We are worse off if we want to pay. How ironic! This kinds of unnecessary restrictions will only bother legitimate customers and drive some of them off.

You are only offering more convenient options to your legitimate customers. It's for customers own good. For people who don't want to spend money to support developers in any way will never buy it whatever the retails do. For people who may want to support you but get pissed off with the restrictions originally placed, you are actually helping yourself if you do.

i love my boxes and game manuals. digital dist. sounds good, but this is like opening a flood gate for hackers, or inadverdently increase all the hacking that happening now. digital is not as secure as hardware. id stick to my cardtridges!red_sovereign

Believe it or not, it doesn't make a difference. In the digital world everything is hackable. It doesn't matter what format you save the data (cartridge, sd card etc.). You just can't avoid it.

DSi itself is not region locked but the online games and DSware that you download are region-locked (sort of software type of discrimination LOL).

It's really lame to have them region locked. If you import it, you expect losing those features.

More power-hungry, no GBA slot, a 0.3MP camera only (worse than buil-tin cameras in free cell phones), shorter battery life of this new DSi are not a so good upgrade. You may want to wait instead of importing.

[QUOTE="Jdog30"]

DSi < DS lite.

less battery life and wider and taller than DS lite is not an upgrade to a portable system.

PapaSmuffs

Putting it into this perspective settles it for me. I will not be getting a DSi. I already have a computer, i want a portable gaming system, which as a DSLite owner I already have.

Yes making it wider and taller is not a good upgrade for a portable device. You don't want to bring a TV-sized thing to carry along, do you?
