@lyckant: Imo DOS2 is better than PoE in every single element, writing included. The writing in PoE is too often bloated and takes itself way too serious while the writing in DOS2 is sharp and focused without ever missing the point. So I don't see why DOS2 was a "kiddo-style" RPG. It's not.

@iskaroth: Well yeah, complaining about the score without even reading the review. Classy.

@Barighm: True has nothing to do with good. A game can be great without being a true RPG. And beyond that, it's just a classification issue. No need to call names and stuff.

@iskaroth: So you must be delighted to hear that everything you've mentioned here is WAY better in DOS2. You'd maybe find out for yourself if you actually read the review above.

@shastri16: It's a mini side quest, one of hundreds in this game. Nothing to get really angry about. You probably see bigger spoilers in many trailers nowadays.

@mdinger: Well, that's good ol' CRPG design. You can always meet enemies way above your level. And yeah, in that case you either try to go in hard (and probably fail) - or you do other stuff first and come back later. There is always stuff to do that fits your level. You just have to find it. But that's the point of the whole game which is at its core about exploration and finding stuff, getting surprised along the way and yeah - failing every now and then. Failing is part of the experience, part of the formula. Get used to it and embrace it, it only shows you ways to evolve your tactics.

@yukushi: A 10 is the best possible score here. That's about it. Nobody ever said that you can never use it because no game is perfect. That wouldn't make any sense anyway. In that case you could just crap the 10 altogether and make 9 the highest reachable and therefore relevant score. That's not the case here. There is a 10 so there must be ways to reach it. Obviously, the reviewer thinks that this game mastered its genre and is a real gem. So he gave it the best available score. That's perfectly valid, whether you personally agree with that opinion or not.

And whether the game gets a 9 or 10 doesn't make any big difference anyway, so what's even the issue? Complaining for the sake of complaining? Or stupid loyalty to other products you haven't even created yourself? Would make no sense at all. Get over it.

@lonesamurai1: No, it doesn't. That's not what a game review actually is and that certainly doesn't describe how it's crafted. This reviews is published on GS because the reviewer who reviewed is works for GS. The review itself is still exclusively created by that one reviewer. That's about it, not more, not less. A review is never a majority vote or anything like that, neither here nor anywhere else.

Whether you agree with the review or not is a completely different topic. But that's about its content not about the way it's crafted.
