maybe if I write a book now with no signature it will be worshipped by mindless drones in the futureStill waiting on any religiously minded people on here to provide me any proof that the bible is legitimate.
That book has no signature, no isbn number, no copyright, no divine magic. Where is its authenticity?
Every one quotes from it but as a non-believer I would love you to show me its not a fake.
There are many religions on the planet and they are all not the same so if a god were to exist all but one must be fraudulent documents.
What makes the bible not a fake or not a book written by Satan to trick you all?

same goes for your sky wizard and any one of the other million religious figures humans created to fill in the gaps
Would you like to have a debate where we dont trash one's values? Or would you want one where I just dont give a fuk Because I can have that one too. Both can get the point across.
Youve dipped in and out of these religious debates for far too long without me telling you how I really feel.
aaaand ... another close minded christian fails to see any semblance of logic or reason[QUOTE="mindstorm"]
Oh yeah, Satan, the guy who sought to tempt Jesus from saving humanity by worshiping him. You do realize that if, for example, Satan had succeeded in tempting Jesus in the garden then Jesus never would have been able to bring hope, redemption, and restoration to this world? Satan had rather himself be worshiped as he watches the world burn.
But of course, a random post on Reddit says something otherwise. Thus, he must not be a bad guy.
As a word of advice, any supposed argument against Christianity can usually be answered and countered by simply reading the Bible or taking a basic theology course. However, apparently being properly educated about such things is overrated.

why is it bad for Satan to try and get people to worship him, but ok for god to do the same?
because religion is broken. it is riddled with human flaws. it is about lunatic men who wrote scripture based on a woman's lie about an affair that got way out of hand. Then it was spread by a deluded king Constantine through bloodshed, the only reason why it even exists today. it's such a fail that religion even exists to this day. that so many humans can lack so much logical reasoning. that every manner of progress humans are pushing for in the present day is being hindered by Iron Age doctrine.back then religion was a powerful tool of control for rulers. it rendered the masses docile and provided rigid moral guidelines (which modern day Christians don't even follow, instead they pick and choose which guidelines from scriptures they choose to follow, assuming they even read the scriptures). Sadly in the modern age of information and progressivism, all religions are largely outdated and only exist through infant indoctrination by closeminded parents who were also indoctrinated as infants and thus could not think freely for themselves in choosing.
actually he's neither of those, because he doesn't exist.Considering God sits in heaven and takes no action when children are molested, people are tortured, women are raped, children are abused, people are murdered, etc etc. and then goes on to blame the pain of mankind on the sin of two people whose sin was to eat a fruit...Not only is God evil but he's the epitome of injustice.

Are you kidding? It goes without saying that those captions was a very loose and out of context representation of what occurred in the Bible.

I'm a christian and I lol'd at the second one. But the first one, well, the church is evolving with the times. Science and faith can coexist. It wasn't "always" a metaphor, it's just been changed to go with what we know.
they can only coexist until science disproves all the fallacies that were used as filler explanation.
