Those aren't cheesy lines, they are almost brilliant from a writer's perspective.

Maybe cheesy isn't the word...but the game's so heavy on the metaphors sometimes that it's almost comical. Still, I wouldn't change a single line in that game.

Yeah, comical is the right word. I don't think Remedy ever thought that people would take the dialog seriously. I have to ask this: do some GS-users actually think this is serious **** and not a film noir-parody?

everybody should know that the cheesyness in max payne is intentional, its the unique humour of the game. it's still a rather serious game though.

i wouldn't agree that ss2 is better than bs, but i wouldn't say bs is better than ss2 either. they're just different games. bs is not dumbed down, its just a game you can quickly get into and have fun. ss2 is more complex, which is rewarding eventually, but you can't just get into it as easily as bs.

as for the atmosphere, that's personal opinion. i like both atmospheres for different reasons.

Na, Spore will be GOTY '08. GTA has lost all of it's fun, it's probabl less fun that GTA III was, and most of the fun in that games was that it was new and fresh.

1. You've probably never played Vice City or San Andreas.

2. GTA is a genre on its own that keeps improving, it'll not get boring anytime soon. Copycats can suck dick.

3. GTA IV will have alot of innovation but i guess you've never seen a trailer or read a single preview so i'll let you be.

i'm close to agreeing with that, one of my faves too

who said i'll have grandchildren, and btw do you know if life on earth will exist in a few decades? children like flashy things, they don't value or respectstuff forits historical significance. i'd rather show some currently modern or not so modern games to older teens or adults in the future who will understand the meaning they had at their time.
