I don't think Cyberpunk should take #1, Fallout 76 was a rolling dumpster fire as Bethesda kept making horrible decisions that affected the players while they were working on "fixing" the nightmare
" while, yes, this is some wild video game--we're exposing ourselves to traumatizing imagery that may not sit well with some us who are especially conscious of bad shit that isn't far off from our real world. "
It's already being set up and started irl - I won't go Political but we've been seeing it start even in Victoria,Australia. The time to see it is now before it goes that way. Maybe people would see what it looks like in a game to spot it irl. We're already seeing people who defend themselves from angry mobs being charged with the crime of self defense.
I didn't see it mentioned, but Japan is also in a recession which would impact luxury item sales imo.
>By comparison, in 2005 < The way things change so fast in today's world, I can't see how something clear back in 2005 can be fairly or equally compared? Practically the entire globe was very different; socially, economically, materially and technologically.... alot depends on many different factors and I don't see how the comparison proves anything in this application.
This isn't to make excuses for less than stellar sales, but I think some context is being left out of this to make a fair evaluation.
@Subway_diet @Gelugon_baat Gold plated toilet - exactly. Great post.
I'm lucky to even be able to upgrade a console this year after the CRAP economy issues. I don't need this thing to wash my dishes, mow the lawn & program my home security system..
As for the 360 UI you mentioned, I don't even care about adverts - as long as my game link popped up easily without having to shift across the expanse of screen to get to it.
I just need a console for the basics of gaming; nothing more. Any other bells & whistles are a plus I might check out and might not.
Ok, another question . . I live in Calif. wine country and can only get DSL - if the XB1 has install issues, how long would it take to install a game without high speed internet (starting at like 1am. lol)?
I wonder if GameStop would install it for me at their store?
@rickphoenixxx That's exactly where I'm at - I have to upgrade my 4GB/360 or play no new games at all.... this was a steal w/ ACU & Rogue thrown in. Essentially $230 for a new console. PS4's bundle sale was no sale imo. @ $400. & like I said in another post, that Controller is a real problem for me. I don't like the short battery life issue I read about either.
I'm following this discussion closely bcuz I have the Xone ACUnity bundle in Lawaway right now but just saw the ad for PS4 bundle - The last of Us/GTA5 and now I don't know what to do.
Pricepoint is a serious issue for me tho and $50 savings makes me lean towards Xone but I feel like I'm missing out on a lot with PS's exclusive games that look awesome.
Then again, I want to play Titanfall badly. This Gemini is really confused Hope these posts can help me make up my mind.
